The NC-Double-Eh Schedule - Jan. 7

Today we have a monster day of games so you can take your pick to watch from the hangover brunch all the way to the pre party evening and we have all the big names from the men's and women's side including Andrew Nicholson, Kris Joseph, Junior Cadougan, Myck Kabongo, the Plouffe Sisters, Natalie Achonwa, Justin Edwards, Kayla Alexander, Wumi Agunbiade and the Gonzaga Boys all right here (could I have name dropped anymore) ...

Remember that you can find the full list of players playing in Division 1 right here.

12:00pm Wagner @ Monmouth

1:45pm Baylor @ Texas Tech - Besides the fact that Brady Heslip had been the long distance shooting star for Baylor all year, he's been shooting the three at a pretty good clip. Until last game that is. He was 0-for-2 from deep in the win over Texas A&M on New Year's Day and that was the first time all season he didn't make a triple. I'm curious to see how he shots it today. And FYI, Texas Tech's own Canadian bomber Ty Nurse can also stroke from all area codes.

2:00pm Dartmouth @ Harvard

2:00pm Albright @ Cornell

2:00pm Northeastern @ James Madison

2:00pm Loyola (IL) @ Cleveland State

2:00pm Long Island @ Quinnipiac

2:30pm UMBC @ Maine - Maine's Canadian combo of Justin Edwards and Mike Allison are playing great. Edwards is looking every bit like a star on the rise posting a near double-double Jan. 2 against Binghamton going for 15 points and 9 rebounds. Allison may not be scoring like the freshman but he's holding down the blocks grabbing 5 boards and blocking 5 shots in that win over Binghamton. Look for these two to do some damage here on 2-12 UMBC.

3:00pm Georgia Southern @ Davidson - Nik Cochran has scored in double figures four of the last five games including a season high 22 points in the Wildcats last game Thursday against UNC Greensboro that included 3 treys and a perfect 7-of-7 from the line.

3:30pm Lehigh @ Holy Cross

3:30pm North Dakota @ New Mexico

4:00pm Marquette @ Syracuse - This should be a titanic match up. I think Syracuse should get the win here since they are a lot deeper a team than Marquette but it will be a dogfight. Kris Joseph is still leading this undefeated Orange team and has not hat to really assert himself too much early on this season. He's playing great ball we could see the ice cold Joseph that has him taking over early. Now that would be a treat. The side story here should be how Marquette's Junior Cadougan plays against Scoop Jardine and Brandon Triche who should both be assuming lead guard duties during this contest.

4:00pm South Carolina @ Kentucky

4:00pm Iowa State @ Texas A&M

4:00pm Bucknell @ Army

4:00pm St. Bonaventure @ Duquesne - St. Bonaventure is coming off a sloppy win over George Washington a few night earlier so we could have a mixed bag here. Andrew Nicholson has been hampered with foul trouble of late and his time has been limited by this. He'll need to stay out of foul trouble early in this game for sure. You should make note that Canadian Chris Johnson is playing really well since being inserted into the starting lineup for the Bonnies. Matthew Wright too.

4:00pm Coppin State @ Savannah State

4:30pm Wofford @ Western Carolina - Western Carolina is riding a two game losing streak right now and will look to snap it today. Harouna Mutombo has run into a cold spell in the last two games only averaging 7 points on a combined 5-of-16 from the field including 1-of-4 from behind the arc. Keaton Cole on the other hand has made 21 threes in his last 6 games including 6 in the loss to Chattanooga Thursday.

6:00pm Maryland-Eastern Shore @ Norfolk State

6:05pm Alabama @ Idaho

7:00pm Richmond @ Rhode Island

7:00pm Oklahoma State @ Texas - Texas' Myck Kabongo has continued his rollercoaster like season with a recent cold stretch. In the Longhorns' last three games he's averaged 5.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists The numbers aren't bad but the team has dropped two of their last three games and Kabongo will need to be that second lift if they want a chance to beat this Oklahoma State team today.

7:00pm Southeast Missouri State @ Eastern Kentucky

8:00pm Creighton @ Bradley

8:00pm South Dakota State @ Oral Roberts

8:00pm Marshall @ Rice - In his last outing, Rice's Dylan Ennis had 18 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds in the four point loss to TCU Jan. 4. What will he do today?

8:00pm Florida Atlantic @ Arkansas-Little Rock

8:00pm Santa Clara @ Gonzaga - Kevin Pangos and Rob Sacre are playing in this game. What more do I need to day.

8:00pm Creighton @ Bradley

8:00pm George Washington @ Saint Louis

8:00pm New Mexico State @ Louisiana Tech - It still may be early but could have Christian Kabongo transferring have been a good thing for New Mexico State? The team has won their last two and the scoring has been very evenly distributed for the Aggies. The three heavy minute Canadians, Hernst Laroche, Tyrone Watson and Daniel Mullings have been playing great in the last two with Mullings netting a career high 21 points. With winning streaks having been hard to come by this season, you should be on this ride until it stops.

8:00pm Pepperdine @ Portland

8:05pm South Dakota @ UMKC

8:05pm Northern Iowa @ Drake

8:30pm Morehead State @ Tennessee Tech

9:00pm Mississippi State @ Arkansas

9:05pm Montana @ Idaho State

10:00pm Stanford @ Oregon State

10:00pm UC Irvine @ UC Davis

10:05pm Northern Colorado @ Sacramento State

And here is where the women are playing today ...

12:00pm Akron @ Bowling Green

1:00pm Duquesne @ St. Bonaventure

1:00pm St. Francis (PA) @ Bryant - Bryant's Naana Ankoma-Mensa leads her team in double-double's on the season with four and she had her last one against Army a few days ago posting 15 points and 14 rebounds in 31 minutes of action.

1:30pm Green Bay @ Milwaukee

2:00pm Cincinnati @ Rutgers

2:00pm Denver @ South Alabama - Denver's Kaetlyn Murdoch, an apparent dual citizen, started off her 2012 by getting 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks in her team's 58-49 win over Arkansas State Jan. 4. She's currently the Pioneers star averaging 17.9 points and 6.4 boards through the first 18 games.

2:00pm Vermont @ Hartford

2:00pm Syracuse @ Pittsburgh

2:00pm Iona @ Niagara

2:00pm Cleveland State @ Butler

2:00pm St. Peter's @ Canisius

2:00pm Rhode Island @ Dayton

2:00pm Ohio @ Kent State

2:00pm Holy Cross @ Lehigh

2:00pm Fairfield @ Manhattan

2:00pm Loyola (MD) @ Siena

3:00pm Jackson State @ Alcorn State

3:00pm Detroit @ Loyola (IL)

3:00pm Wagner @ Monmouth

3:00pm Texas @ Oklahoma State

4:00pm Connecticut @ Notre Dame - This will be a good game to watch on the women's side. Notre Dame and Connecticut are both on top of the women's game and it will be a shootout. Natalie Achonwa has been a valuable reserve off the bench for the Irish and is averaging 8.9 points and 4.7 rebounds in a very efficient 16 minutes a game. Look for this to be a game that she can shine in.

4:00pm Colorado @ Washington State - In her last two games, Colorado's Julie Seabrook is averaging 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds and she'll be looking to help get the Buffaloes back to winning to close out the west coast road trip.

4:00pm Utah Valley @ Utah State

4:00pm American @ Colgate

4:00pm Howard @ Hampton

4:00pm Portland State @ Weber State

4:30pm Mount St. Mary's @ Fairleigh Dickinson

4:30pm Buffalo @ Miami (OH) - In the last two games, Brittany Hedderson is averaging 18 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists for Buffalo. She will be looking to continue that scoring streak today against Miami (OH).

5:00pm Utah @ Washington - Even though Utah may be just breaking even in the record department, Taryn Wicijowski and Michelle Plouffe are both turning in monster seasons. The pair are in the top ten in the conference in both scoring and rebounding and will be looking to help get the Utes back in the win column after two straight losses to open up the team's first year in the Pac-12

5:00pm Portland @ Pepperdine

5:00pm BYU @ San Francisco

5:00pm San Diego @ Saint Mary's

5:00pm Ohio State @ Michigan

5:00pm Texas Tech @ Missouri

6:00pm UC Santa Barbara @ Cal State Fullerton

7:00pm North Dakota State @ Southern Utah

8:00pm Seton Hall @ Marquette - Marquette's Katherine Plouffe was saddled with foul trouble in the Golden Eagles' 70-53 loss to Louisville this week and she only managed 2 points on 1-of-4 shooting. You can bet she'll be looking to take out that frustration on Seton Hall tonight.

8:30pm Boise State @ New Mexico State
