Tonight, as a prelude to a busy weekend, we have a quartet of great games that feature some Catamounts, some Seahawks, a few Aggies and some Bulldogs as well as a few great lady ballers too ...
Here is where the men are playing today ...
7:00pm Davidson @ Chattanooga
7:00pm Tennessee Tech @ Eastern Kentucky
7:00pm Elon @ Western Carolina - Despite Western Carolina dropping three of their last five games, Harouna Mutombo has been playing well. He's managed double figures in four of the last five and is averaging 12.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.6 steals. Teammate Keaton Cole has been providing great scoring off the bench for the Catamounts but is coming off a 3 point game in the loss to Appalachian State last Saturday so expect him to put up some points.
7:00pm Navy @ Lehigh
7:00pm South Dakota State @ Oakland
7:00pm St. Peter's @ Rider
7:00pm LIU Brooklyn @ Robert Morris
7:00pm Wagner @ Sacred Heart - Wagner's Tyler Murray has scored in double figures in four consecutive games and averaged 13.8 points, 4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals in that span. Sacred Heart is a middle of the pack team and could make it two straight losses for the Seahawks but if Murray has another great game, the chances for a win are much better for tonight.
8:00pm NJIT @ North Dakota
8:00pm South Alabama @ Arkansas-Little Rock
8:00pm Tennessee State @ Tennessee-Martin
8:05pm South Dakota @ Oral Roberts
8:30pm Washington @ Arizona State
9:00pm Nevada @ New Mexico State - The last five games have seen Hernst Laroche the scorer come out of hiding. In a great offensive stretch, he averaged 14.2 points to go with 3 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.8 steals and a 4-1 record in that time. Both Tyrone Watson and Daniel Mullings are also following suit and playing great ball since the new year saw them both inserted into starting lineup. Look for big contributions tonight and New Mexico State will need it against conference leading Nevada.
9:05pm Northern Colorado @ Idaho State
10:00pm San Francisco @ Santa Clara
10:05pm San Jose State @ Idaho
11:00pm Gonzaga @ Portland - Rob Sacre has looked very much like the player from earlier this season last week and his performance has earned him our NC-Double-Eh Player of the Week. Kevin Pangos on the other hand has been scoring less but still contributing. In his last five games, he's averaging 10.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4 assists. Look for both of these Canucks to put up some big numbers against a depleted Portland team.
And here is where the women are playing today ...
7:00pm Green Bay @ Butler
7:00pm Hofstra @ Delaware
7:00pm Penn State @ Michigan
7:00pm North Carolina-Wilmington @ Northeastern
7:00pm Wright State @ Cleveland State
7:05pm Detroit @ Youngstown State
8:00pm Wisconsin @ Minnesota
8:00pm Purdue @ Northwestern - After starting off the season white hot, Northwestern's Karly Roser has cooled down now. She's still putting up some pretty impressive numbers for a freshman (8.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2 steals in 33.9 minutes) but will have a tough game tonight. Purdue is one of the better teams in the Big Ten this season and Roser will need to bring her best if the Wildcats want a shot at winning this game.
8:00pm Utah Valley @ Chicago State
8:05pm Iowa @ Nebraska
9:00pm USC @ Colorado
9:00pm UCLA @ Utah - Utah's Taryn Wicijowski just missed her sixth double-double of the season by a rebound going for 10 and 9 against Arizona State in the 58-52 loss. In that same game, teammate Michelle Plouffe went for 15 points and 7 rebounds. The two have been doing major damage for the Utes and they'll both need to do so against UCLA.
10:00pm Arizona State @ Washington State
10:00pm Hawaii @ Nevada
10:00pm UC Davis @ UC Santa Barbara
