The NC-Double-Eh Schedule - Jan. 23

Tonight we have a couple of big games from the Big East so we'll call today Big East Monday. We have Kris Joseph and Syracuse looking to beat Cincinnati and Natalie Achonwa and Notre Dame looking to take on Tennessee at home and it's all going down tonight ...

Here is where the men are playing today ...

7:00pm Syracuse @ Cincinnati - When you're a ranked team, everyone has upset in mind when they play you and the Fighting Irish were no exception. Syracuse dropped their first game of the year against a depleted Notre Dame team Saturday and you can bet that it lit a fire for tonight. The Orange have been in cruise control for a good part of the season but will that loss wake them up now and they'll need to be awake for Cincinnati who've been playing some very good ball. The Bearcats have knocked off all three of the ranked Big East teams they've played so far this year and will be looking to make Syracuse number four on that list. This will mean a big performance will be needed by Kris Joseph. Even though the Orange are deep and talented Joseph will need to be assume the driver's seat and lead the team in this contest. In his last five games, he's averaging 12.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.4 steals. That's not a bad thing on a deep team but Joseph has had outbursts in big games and this does qualify as a big game.

7:00pm Northeastern @ Old Dominion

7:00pm North Carolina A&T @ Coppin State

7:00pm Iona @ Siena

7:00pm Drexel @ William & Mary

7:30pm Bethune-Cookman @ Maryland-Eastern Shore

10:00pm Loyola Marymount @ Santa Clara

And here is where the women are playing today ...

4:00pm Central Connecticut State @ Bryant - Naana Ankoma-Mensa had been on a tear in the last few games until she ran into foul trouble in the 84-47 loss to Quinnipiac in her last game. She was limited in that defeat so look for her to breakout today against Central Connecticut State.

6:00pm Alabama A&M @ Alcorn State

7:00pm Robert Morris @ Fairleigh Dickinson

7:00pm Tennessee @ Notre Dame - Notre Dame versus Tennessee, what more do I need to say here? A battle between two of the best women's basketball programs ever is worth watching tonight. Natalie Achonwa is coming off a 1 point, 3 rebound performance against Villanova in the win Saturday but I would expect her to be a key player off the bench in this game. By the way, she's second in the Big East in field goal percentage at .583.

7:00pm St. Francis (PA) @ Monmouth

7:00pm Mount St. Mary's @ St. Francis (NY)

7:00pm LIU Brooklyn @ Wagner

9:00pm Oakland @ Southern Utah
