The NC-Double-Eh Schedule - Jan. 16

Today has a pretty busy slate of games with some of our favorite Canadian ballers (some playing at midday, really) and they are guaranteed to make sure you get your basketball fix in. Find out who is playing where and when right here ...

Remember that you can find the full list of players playing in Division 1 right here.

3:30pm Louisville @ Marquette– If you happen to be at home on a Monday afternoon then this is a game for you if for no other reason than because you’re home on a Monday after.

5:00pm New Hampshire @ Stony Brook

7:00pm Maine @ VermontJustin Edwards is on a cooling off trend in the last few games since his last 20 point outburst but he’s still playing great ball. In the four games in 2012 so far Edwards is averaging 13.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists. The team is currently riding a two game losing streak with the last loss coming in Albany last Saturday by one point. Maybe another outburst from Edwards is what the team needs to get them over the hump. As a side note, Mike Allison has been a block machine averaging 2.8 in the eight games he’s played.

7:30pm Rider @ Fairfield

7:30pm Pittsburgh @ Syracuse – This game will go in one of two directions: early blowout or down to the wire. Pittsburgh has been a little on the strangely soft side since Khem Birch transferred out last month losing close games to solid teams. They likely don’t have the talent to compete with Syracuse so it could be a blowout and that would mean that Kris Joseph doesn’t play a whole lot. But if the Panthers wake up and make it a tight one, Joseph will then play major minutes and should look like an All American. With all that in mind, I’ll leave watching this game up to you. FYI, Joseph has been playing solid, not great, ball of late but that’s mostly due to his team being so deep right now.

8:00pm Norfolk State @ Coppin State

9:30pm Baylor @ Kansas– This will be a game to watch since you’re looking at possibly six future NBA guys in this game alone. Baylor will have a depth advantage over Kansas here on paper but it will be a dogfight since the teams match up evenly with the players that play. Brady Heslip will be a major factor in this one I think largely because his shooting will keep the Jayhawks from crowding the paint or helping off the ball. He does average just about three made treys a game (2.9 actually) and there should be a whole lot of opportunity for him to launch in this game.

10:05pm Idaho State @ Portland State

And here is where the ladies are playing tonight …

2:00pm Fairleigh Dickinson @ LIU Brooklyn

2:00pm Monmouth @ St. Francis (NY)

2:00pm Bryant @ Wagner– If you happen to be home on a Monday afternoon (like for the Marquette game above) and you want to catch some women’s action, this is the game today. Bryant’s Naana Ankoma-Mensa has been on a tear in the last four games averaging 15.5 points, 12.7 rebounds and 2.8 steals. If you’re watching any women’s game this afternoon, this is the one.

6:00pm Vermont @ Maine– In her last two games, Lauren Buschmann has been playing like she’s all conference posting 18.5 points, 13 boards, 3 assists and 3.5 steals in her sixth and seventh double-doubles of the season. After a tight 69-63 overtime loss to New Hampshire two days ago, you can bet she’ll want to take our her frustration on someone and it looks like Maine is it.

6:30pm Alcorn State @ Arkansas-pine Bluff

7:00pm Central Connecticut State @ Mount St. Mary’s

7:00pm Holy Cross @ Brown

7:30pm Illinois @ Northwestern

8:00pm UMKC @ North Dakota State
