The NC-Double-Eh Schedule - Jan. 1

Happy New Year fellow Canadian basketball fans! I hope your all had a very good evening/night to ring in the 2012. To start off your year we have some games for you today that include Junior Cadougan and Marquette looking to bounce back as well as Kris Joseph and Syracuse looking to extend their unbeaten streak and retain their Number 1 ranking right here ...

Remember that you can find the full list of players playing in Division 1 right here.

1:00pm Villanova @ Marquette - Marquette was surprisingly blowout by Vanderbilt three days ago on their home floor which caused the boo-birds to come out. In that 74-57 loss, Junior Cadougan went 1-for-3 for 2 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist in 21 minutes, very un-Junior like numbers. The Golden Eagles should bounce back today but it will not be an easy win. Expect Villanova to claw at every step of the way before succumbing to Marquette in this conference game.

4:00pm Minnesota @ Michigan

4:00pm Akron @ Marshall

5:00pm Syracuse @ DePaul - Syracuse's Kris Joseph has been steady for a very deep team all season but there is no reason that he should have been scoreless in the blowout win against Seton Hall three days ago. In that 75-49 win he was 0-for-6 in 26 mins. He did grab manage 4 assists and 4 steals as well as a board and a block which shows he can find other ways to contribute but a big donut in the score column is odd. Today's game should have Joseph lighting up the scoreboard against a DePaul team that should give Syracuse a run for their early New Year's money.

There are no Canadian ladies playing today as they luckily have the New Year's Day off to recover from any partying. Lucky them.
