Tonight we have two great games for you that included a Bonnie-fide talent and three Aggies taking on some Aggies. Find out who else is playing right here ...
Marquee Matchup(s)
7:00pm St. Bonaventure @ Duquesne
With two games left before the conference tournament, St. Bonaventure is looking down the barrel of a tough game tonight. Having upset Duquesne on Feb. 5 you can bet that they will be looking to payback the Bonnies. That lose sparked a downward slide for the Dukes who have slipped to just two games ahead of the Bonnies in the standings. Andrew Nicholson had a 15 point, 6 rebound and 4 block night in that game against the Dukes. You can bet that he’ll be the number target and he should be he’s averaging 22.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.8 blocks over the last eight games. For the Bonnies to look really good heading into this Atlantic 10 Tournament they may need this win and another win over Duquesne may help their chances at an at-large big for the NCAAs, or at least the NIT.
11:00pm Utah State @ New Mexico State
In what looks like a race to second place in the Western Athletic Conference, New Mexico State does not have it easy having to play Utah State. NMSU has been on three game losing streak and is one game out of second place now. Though a win against Utah State would be huge, they may be facing an uphill battle. But there are pluses here: all three of the losses were tight with the largest margin being six points and Hernst Laroche, Tyrone Watson and Christian Kabongo have been playing well. The three are averaging 35 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in the three losses and against this Utah State team, the three of them will need to come out firing for a shot at a good win.
And here is where everyone else is playing today …
2:30pm Kennesaw State vs. Belmont
7:00pm Lafayette @ Holy Cross – Coming off being named to the Patriot League First Team, Jared Mintz will be a huge target in this game (as if he wasn’t a target already). This will be his last shot to make the NCAA Tournament and Lafayette will need a big game from him, like the 26 points and 9 rebounds he had against American five days ago, to get past Holy Cross.
7:00pm Richmond @ Saint Joseph’s
7:00pm George Washington @ Rhode Island
7:00pm Tennessee-Martin @ Tennessee State
7:00pm Army @ Bucknell – Bucknell is the regular season Patriot League champs but that means nothing when it’s conference tournament time. Bryson Johnson was named to the 2nd Team All Patriot League Tuesday and should be big in this game. Even though the Bison beat Army to end the regular season, you can bet that Army will look to pay them back tonight.
7:30pm Colorado @ Iowa State
8:00pm Cincinnati @ Marquette – Junior Cadougan had the first double-double of his career against Providence a few days ago going for 10 points and 10 assists. Since he’s been starting, he’s averaged 6.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 6 assists and a steal. Expect him to start tonight and continue his great play.
8:00pm Central Arkansas @ Texas-San Antonio
8:00pm Southeastern Louisiana @ McNeese State – With two games to go before the Southland Conference Tournament, the race for the lead in the East Division is really tight with McNeese State one game up on Northwestern State. The Cowboys will need this game tonight to give themselves some more breathing room at the top and Diego Kapelan will be a key in that. He’s been on a tear the last six games averaging 20 points in that span and is hitting for over 4 threes a night. I know he wants that conference championship ring and he’ll need to come out firing today to help get it.
8:00pm Central Arkansas @ Texas-San Antonio
8:30pm Minnesota @ Northwestern
9:00pm Mississippi State @ Arkansas
9:00pm Cal Bakersfield @ Boise State
9:00pm Southeast Missouri State @ Eastern Kentucky
