Today we have one lone Canadian playing for a shot at an automatic NCAA Tournament bid so be sure to check him and his Spiders out.
Marquee Matchup
1:00pm Dayton vs. Richmond
Richmond is playing for a big to the NCAA Tournament today and it has been an exciting ride. Having won 25 games before their 58-54 win over Temple yesterday, this will be the second year in a row that the Spiders reached the Atlantic 10 Tournament championship game. Playing Dayton for all the marbles and the automatic invite, Richmond at least has a nine point win on the Flyers from Jan. 25 as their swagger chip. During this season, Francis-Cedric Martel has seen his playing time fluctuate as his role has changed beginning the season as a starter and being moved to the bench about midway through the campaign. What hasn’t changed is that when he is given ample time he produces. He’s always been an athletic defender in his three years at Richmond but in the A-10 Tournament thus far, he’s averaged 19.5 minutes, 4.5 points and 4.5 rebounds. Expect him to play big in this game if given the opportunity.
