The NC-Double-Eh Schedule - Feb. 28

In tonight's Marquee Matchup, we have a pair of Longhorns hosting a pack of Wildcats.  Find out who else is playing where right here ...

Marquee Matchup

9:00pm Kansas State @ Texas

Texas is coming off a stunning loss to Colorado and it doesn’t get any easier going up against Kansas State.  Both Cory Joseph Tristan Thompson is coming off a great weeks and with only two games left on the schedule, they have to grind it out against a tough that has beat Kansas and Missouri to bookend their last four games.  The key things to watch in this game will be can Cory stifle Pullen and will Tristan be able to handle himself in the post.  Joseph will likely not be defending Pullen all game but as a freshman with a stopper tag, I would think that Barnes may slide him over if Dugas Balbay keeps getting beat.  That will be huge if he can lock him particularly since Pullen is averaging over 28 points a game in his last four.  For Thompson, he won’t have a serious post player to defend him since Freddy Asprilla left the team but the Wildcats will still defend him hard.   The question will be can he dominate against this relatively front line.

And here is where everyone else is playing tonight …

8:30pm Coppin State @ Norfolk State

9:00pm Jackson State @ Arkansas-Pine Bluff

9:00pm Cal Bakersfield @ Gonzaga – This is the last game of the season for Gonzaga and they are going to look to end on a high note before the conference tournament starts.  Rob Sacre, who was nursing a wrist injury, had 16 points in the Zags thumping of San Diego Saturday but no rebounds.  Will this be a recurrent theme with the next game after this one meaning a lot?  For Cal Bakersfield, Alex Johnson has been playing a little on the down side but not as down as you would think.  He hasn’t been shooting well of last and is averaging just over 3 field goals made in the last five games.  For the Roadrunners to have a shot at beating the Zags, Johnson will need to be on tonight
