Tonight we have a Big Bonnie looking to butt heads with some Rams. Find out who else is playing tonight right here ...
Marquee Matchup
7:00pm Fordham @ St. Bonaventure
Andrew Nicholson has been playing well enough this season that it would be a crime for him not to be on an All Conference team and his full arsenal should be on display tonight. Fordham is a traditionally weak team and at 0-12 in the Atlantic 10 this season so far, they have not disappointed. With that in mind, the much improved Bonnies should win this game. Nicholson has had some bouts of inconsistency earlier in January but that could be attributed to fatigue since he was playing so many minutes and defensive adjustments made by teams to his blossoming game. He’s scored over 15 points in the last six games, including a 35 point game against Dayton, and had three double-doubles in that span as well and seems to be on a roll. He’s been recently mentioned by Chad Ford in ESPN.com as an NBA prospect which is high praise indeed and with Fordham being so weak look for a full game from Nicholson so show that he is indeed a potential pick in an upcoming Draft. Also of note, Matthew Wright has been playing more minutes in the last few games and though he’s not scoring a lot he is contributing on the glass and assist front and may be set for a big game soon.
Here is where everyone else is playing tonight …
7:00pm Charlotte @ George Washington
7:00pm Army @ Lafayette
7:00pm Lehigh @ Bucknell – This is all just a matter of pride for Bucknell since they have clinched the conference but you should take a sec to check out Bryson Johnson. He had a couple of big games last week, is the conference player of the week and is averaging 3.4 threes per game since the New Year.
7:00pm Virginia Commonwealth @ Drexel
8:00pm McNeese State @ Texas-Arlington – Diego Kapelan had a career night this past Saturday and earned Southland and NC-Double-Eh player of the week honors. I’m really curious to see how he comes out in this game. He’s hit double figure scoring in the last four games, ten of the last twelve, so he could be up for another outburst.
8:00pm Kentucky @ Arkansas
8:00pm Nicholls State @ Central Arkansas
8:05pm Evansville @ Drake
8:05pm Creighton @ Wichita State
9:00pm Kansas State @ Nebraska
11:00pm New Mexico State @ San Jose State – In New Mexico State’s loss to Northern Colorado Saturday, Hernst Laroche had one of his better games of the year going for 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The other three Canadians are all contributing also but in smaller scales from earlier in the season. The Aggies will need this win to get some separation between them and Nevada who are on their heels in the conference standings with just a few games left in the regular season.
