Dane Smith has been having one of those seasons for Tennessee-Martin that sees him in the starting lineup one game and then playing five minutes off the bench the next. The funny thing is that he is the team’s third leading rebounder at the moment on a team that is very perimeter heavy. Like his brother Dwayne at George Washington he’s a glass crasher and has provided some scoring when needed. Dane is averaging 6.8 points, 6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 steals when he plays 20 or more minutes. With numbers like that, and a team that is not having a very good overall season, the Skyhawks will need to get a lot of minutes our off Smith.

9:00pm St. John’s @ Marquette – Junior Cadougan has been a playing the backup point all season and he’s been playing very well but in the last three games, he’s only registered 2 assists in 34 minutes. Not a good thing for the second leading assists man for the Golden Eagles but he has averaged 4 points in each game so that’s a plus. Maybe he will turn the corner tonight.
