Today we have a Colonial that may be the X-factor for George Washington. Find out who else is playing today right here ...
Marquee Matchup
4:00pm George Washington @ Massachusetts
Dwayne Smith has been a big minute guy for George Washington for the better part of the season and he’s been producing some big numbers but in the last three games he’s not been himself. In the last three games since his 13 point, 13 rebound game against Xavier, Smith is averaging 4.3 points, 3 rebounds, an assist and a steal in 17 minutes. Those numbers are decent but they are not what he’s been putting up all season so it seems a little low. GU has a shot to take a step forward in the conference standings and put them in a better position come tourney time. UMass is in the spot above the Colonials right now and if Smith can get out of this mini slump he’ll be a big reason for jump in team’s place in the standings.
And here is where everyone else is playing today …
12:00pm Canisius @ Loyola (MD)
1:00pm Marquette @ Georgetown – Junior Cadougan has only 4 assists in the last four games which is unusual for him, a pass first point guard. Against Georgetown, he’ll need to give that extra lift from him. The Hoyas are coming in having beat Syracuse and with the Eagles in a four way tie for sixth place in the Big East this will be a tough game in a tough conference.
1:00pm Binghamton @ Vermont
2:00pm Niagara @ Rider
4:00pm Iona @ Marist
6:00pm Minnesota @ Iowa
8:00pm Southern Illinois @ Creighton – Since being put into the starting lineup four games ago, Jahenns Manigat has been playing well averaging 7.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals in 24.5 minutes, all about double his season averages right now. He should be starting for the remainder of the season and he could have a big game here.
9:00pm Arizona @ Arizona State
