The NC-Double-Eh Schedule - Jan. 3

Today's Marquee Match Up features the Canadian Cyclones passing through Northern Illinois.  Find out who else is playing tonight right here ...

Marquee Match Up

8:00pm Northern Illinois @ Iowa State

After taking two losses to start December, Iowa State has rattled off six straight wins and the Canadian combo of Melvin Ejim and Jamie Vanderbeken has played big parts in the wins.  Ejim has been scoring in bunches and when he doesn’t he contributes on the glass and defends to help compensate.  Vanderbeken has been doing the same providing a very big inside defensive presence when he is not filling up the bucket.  You can go back to the boxscores for evidence of that.  Last game it was Jamie’s turn to take the scoring load while Melvin grabbed glass and the game before that their roles were reversed.  In this game I wouldn’t place any bets as to who will take what role but I know that they will both likely get good games in a not so great Northern Illinois squad before they dive head first into conference play.

And there is where everyone else is playing tonight …

7:00pm St. Francis (NY) @ Hartford

7:00pm Buffalo @ Cornell

7:00pm SIU-Edwardsville @ Ball State

7:00pm Wagner @ Quinnipiac – After only scoring four points in the Wagner loss to Texas A&M before Christmas, Tyler Murray came out and dropped 17 points on Albany along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.  Quinnipiac is a pre season pick to win the Northeast Conference so it would be a great win for the Seahawks to steal if they can.  But if Wagner wants this win, Murray will probably have to carry the team, again.

7:00pm Iona @ Siena

7:00pm Canisius @ St. Peter’s

7:30pm Belmont @ Florida Gulf Coast

7:30pm Niagara @ Fairfield

8:00pm Savannah State @ Kansas State – Kansas State will win this game, hands down.  That is not the exciting prediction part.  What will be exciting to predict is if Juevol Myles will see playing time tonight. He had a very efficient 12 points in 17 minutes of action and that included going 3-of-3 from the three point line.  With pre season All America selection Jacob Pullen back in the lineup after serving a suspension, will Myles have to sit on the bench for this game?

10:00pm Bethany (CA) @ Santa Clara – It seems like Marc Trasolini will likely stay coming off the bench for the remainder of the season.  And why not?  He’s been playing great since being moved from the starting lineup including the Broncos’ 85-70 win against Fordham before New Year’s where he went off for 22 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks in 29 minutes .  He should be able to put up comparable numbers against Bethany (CA) and continue to flourish in his role off the bench.
