In today's Marquee Match Up we have two great games for you to watch that feature three Bulldogs and a Saint. Find out where everyone else is playing here ...
Marquee Match Up
1:00pm Gonzaga @ Wake Forest
The Zags continue to roll and so does Rob Sacre. After a less than spectacular performance against Lafayette on Dec. 29, he had 16 pts and 15 rebs for the Bulldogs (including 4 assists and 2 blocks) in 33 mins in Gonzaga’s New Year Eve tilt against Oklahoma State. Sacre has been playing surprisingly well on the offensive end this season but he’s had a lack of consistency rebounding the ball and as the main option down low he’ll need to pick that up against Wake Forest. Not to be forgotten, both Manny Arop and Kelly Olynyk had very good games off the bench also against Oklahoma State. Olynyk didn’t play many minutes but managed to get 5 pts, 7 rebounds and a steal in 12 minutes continuing his efficient output from the bench. Arop on the other hand played 34 minutes but did have game high 10 boards to go with 7 points, a block and good defense. Let see what these guys conjure up against the Demon Deacons.
4:00pm Marshall @ St. Bonaventure
Andrew Nicholson’s last three scoring games look like this: 44, 21 and 26. Not bad at all I think especially when you consider he only sat for 7 minutes in that span that included five extra overtime sessions. In those three games he’s averaging 30 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and a block and is shooting 56.3 % from the floor. Marshall is coming from the tough Conference-USA and will be looking to shut down Nicholson. This should be a good afternoon game to watch for sure.
1:00pm Boston University @ Maine
2:00pm Elon @ Columbia
2:00pm Robert Morris @ Ohio
2:00pm Eastern Kentucky @ Georgia Southern
2:00pm Binghamton @ La Salle
3:30pm St. Francis (PA) @ North Carolina
4:00pm George Washington @ Howard – In his has scored in double figures in five of his last six games and is George Washington’s second leading scorer right now. What will he do against this not very good Howard team? I don’t know but I’m thinking it may be a big something.
4:00pm Lafayette @ Fairleigh Dickinson – Jared Mintz is the steady hand in the Lafayette offense and defense this season and will look to help get the Leopards back on the winning track today. They have lost three straight games and Mintz will need a big game to get Lafayette that fifth win.
4:00pm Bucknell @ Richmond
4:30pm Ark-Little Rock @ Denver
5:00pm Davidson @ Vanderbilt
5:00pm Bluefield College @ Tennessee Tech – In two of the last four games, Liam McMorrow has played over 20 minutes and when he did he put up double-doubles – 15 and 12 on Hiwassee College and 16 and 12 on Crowley’s Ridge. Now they are not exactly Duke-type teams but those are still good numbers. Bluefield is in the same category as the previous two teams he went off on so maybe this will be another monster game.
8:00pm California @ Stanford
8:00pm Colorado @ Cal Bakersfield
