Tonight's Marquee Match Up features two Cyclones looking to take down the undefeated Jayhawks. Find out who else is playing on this busy game day right here ...
Marquee Match Up
9:00pm Kansas @ Iowa State
Iowa State is coming off a one point loss to Nebraska and it will be fresh when the Cyclones take the floor tonight. This should be added motivation for the Canadian tandem of Melvin Ejim and Jamie Vanderbeken. They have had good games in the loss to the Cornhuskers but they will need great games to overcome Kansas. The Jayhawks are still undefeated and have only won one game by less than five points all year. This means that the Cyclones will have to hit on all pistons for a chance to win and both Ejim and Vanderbeken will need to get going early. The both of them will likely be they X factors in an upset win of the Jayhawks tonight.
And here is where everyone else is playing tonight …
7:00pm Syracuse @ St. John’s – On paper the Orange should win this game but the Red Storm have been playing the role of giant killer lately. St. John’s has been the surprise of the early Big East season having beat West Virginia, Providence and Georgetown before falling to Notre Dame this weekend. All that means is that Syracuse has their work cut out for them and they will look to Kris Joseph. He’s been on fire since the Dec. 22 game against Drexel and is averaging 21.25 points, 7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals and is shooting 56% from the floor (28-of-50) in about 37 minutes a game. Joseph has always been big when he’s been needed to be so expect a great game here tonight.
7:00pm Maine @ Albany
7:00pm Fordham @ George Washington
7:00pm George Mason @ Northeastern
7:00pm Colgate @ Lafayette
7:00pm UMBC @ Binghamton
7:00pm Furman @ Davidson
7:30pm Bucknell @ American University
7:30pm St. Bonaventure @ Temple – Andrew Nicholson has been playing like a monster all season and until last night he had scored the most points (44) in a college game. Tonight St. Bonaventure takes on Temple and the Bonnies will need all that Nicholson can give them for a chance to win this one. The Bonnies are on a two game winning streak that include a triple overtime win over Charlotte on Saturday. If the Bonnies can keep the game close then they have a chance at winning the game, a better chance if they can send it into overtime where they are 2-1.
8:00pm Arkansas @ LSU
8:00pm Central Arkansas @ Stephan F. Austin – In what may be a dismal season for Central Arkansas, Imad Qahwash has been the bright spot. In his last three games he’s put up 18.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 4 assists in 27 minutes. This is a good game to catch Qahwash at work, especially since he’s recently inserted into the starting lineup.
8:05pm Wichita State @ Creighton
8:05pm Drake @ Evansville
8:30pm Tulsa @ Arizona State
8:35pm McNeese State @ Lamar – After slumping of sorts the month of December, Diego Kapelan had a 17 point, 5 rebound, 4 assist performance to start 2011. McNeese State is currently sitting on top of the Southland Conference with the best overall record as well and it’s the right time for Kapelan to step out of his slump.
9:00pm Colorado @ Kansas State
11:00pm Nevada @ Idaho
