The NC-Double-Eh Schedule - Dec. 5

Today's Marquee Match Up is between a Spider and a (Sun) Devil in the early afternoon.  Find out who else is playing today right here ...

Marquee Match Up

2:00pm Richmond @ Arizona State

Montreal’s Francis-Cedric Martel is one hell of an athlete.  It may not show in the boxscores but he is a valuable member of the Spiders.  He’s improved his shooting over his stay in Richmond and he is a very good defender who plays meaningful minutes.  He’s been capable of exploding offensively in the past and against a tough team like Arizona State, who will be looking to lock up pre season All America candidate Kevin Anderson, Martel may have that opportunity do so again.  As an added bonus, Calgary transplant Jordan Bachynskihas been playing fairly well in the two games against some top teams in St. John’s and Baylor for Arizona State so he may see quite a bit of action as well.

And here is when everyone else is playing ...

2:00pm Niagara @ Iona

3:00pm Arkansas-Pine Bluff @ Auburn

3:00pm Tulsa @ Arkansas-Little Rock– Ottawa’s Eric Kibi has been a starter for the first seven games for Ark-Little Rock Trojans this season and has been giving a boost on the glass and providing some scoring also.  Look for Kibi to start again and provide much of the same in this game.

4:00pm Canisius @ Marist

5:15pm Navy vs. George Washington

9:00pm Eastern Michigan @ Idaho – Idaho seems like they may be play a spoiler this season so this may not be an ideal game to watch but I do like this kid Djim Bandoumel.  I met him this summer during a Canada Basketball camp and the kid is polite, he smiles a lot and is personable.  Oh yeah, he’s a monster on the glass and in the paint.  He’s still a little raw on the O end but he’s like a young Ben Wallace on D.  Besides, I just really like saying his name.

10:30pm Texas @ USC- Ok, OK, OK.  How did I miss this game on the schedule last night?!?!?!  Tristan Thompson is coming off back to back double-double games while Cory Joseph seems to finally have settled into the college and found his stroke.  Both have been playing very well (though TT has slowed down a tab on the scoring end) and are looking like the Top Ten recruiting class they were said to be.  I'm not a big USC fan (primarily because they took a scholarship away from a very popular and well liked Canadian a couple of years back for Lil Romeo) but they have rebuilt somewhat despite the Juice Gate with OJ Mayo.  They have players now and can stay competitive in games and it's because of that that this game will go one of two ways:  tight and two the wire or a blowout.  Judging by their record against teams in major conference (2-1 with the largest point differential being six points) I would pick former.
