Marquee Match Up
7:00pm Cornell @ Syracuse
Kris Joseph had started off this season on the slow side but he has picked it up the last three games. In the wins over Williams & Mary, Michigan and Georgia Tech, Joseph is averaging 19.7 points, 5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and a steal while shooting 55% from the field (18-of-33) and 75% from the line (18-of-24). His best game this season came against Georgia Tech when he played only 22 minutes thanks to first half foul trouble but scored 19 points on 5-of-7 from the floor including 2-of-3 from the arc and was near perfect from the line going 7-of-8. This game against a not so strong Cornell team should be an extension of that great play for Joseph so it’s worth watching tonight.
7:00pm Princeton @ Lafayette – This will be a good game to watch. The Princeton offense meets the Lafayette version of the Princeton offense. It will be a back cutting, pick and pop show for sure. Jared Mintz has been nothing short of great this year for the Leopards. He’s averaging 16.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and a steal through the first six games and will need all of that to get his team its second W of the season.
7:00pm Canisius @ Binghamton
7:00pm Iona @ Norfolk State
7:00pm Bradley @ Western Carolina
9:00pm UTEP @ New Mexico State – This is a good game to check out. The Canadian contingent of Hernst Laroche, Tyrone Watson and Christian Kabongo have been playing well in very meaningful minutes all season and are going to be tested by the UTEP Miners, again. The Aggies have lost four straight but to very good major teams. The Miners had beaten the Aggies 73-56 last week so this game will have some added edge to it for New Mexico State.
9:05pm Eastern Washington @ Gonzaga – The Zags are coming off a very emotional couple of weeks that had them lose a tough game to San Diego State and then get beat by Kansas State capped off by a great win over Marquette. Eastern Washington is not a great team but they will not be a push over either. This will be a good set up game for Gonzaga’s tussle with Illinois next week and could be a good building block. FYI, Canadians Rob Sacre (11.4 pts, 6.6 rbs, 1.4 blks, 1 ast in 26.4 mins), Kelly Olynyk (7.2 pts, 4.8 rebs in 18 mins) and Manny Arop (5.8 pts, 3 rebs in 14 mins) all have efficient numbers for their minutes.
10:00pm Saint Louis @ Portland
10:00pm Northern Arizona @ Cal Bakersfield
