Marquee Match Up
2:00pm Wagner @ Stony Brook
Now you may wonder why I would put a game between Wagner and Stony Brook? Well, Wagner has a burgeoning star in Tyler Murray, that’s why. Last season, Murray was a starter but played a role. This season he seems to be a key figure for the Seahawks and through two games he’s averaging 18 pts, 3 rbs, 3 asts and a steal while only missing three total minutes so far. I we need to get on this bandwagon early and you can start with today’s game.
12:30pm Davidson @ Western Kentucky
2:00pm William & Mary @ Syracuse – So we are three games into the 2010-11 college season and who would have thought that Kris Joseph would be the ‘Cuse’s fourth leading scorer behind, in order, Brandon Triche, Scoop Jardine and Rick Jackson? Definitely not me! At least it is still very early in the season and Joseph can still get settled into his role. This game could be a breakout game.
2:00pm St. Bonaventure @ Binghamton – I’m high on Andrew Nicholson sure. I’m actually also high on Chretien Lukusa. So this game will have four Canadians playing in it so make the effort to watch this one. Nicholson has been on a tear the first four games and his freshman teammate Matthew Wright is not playing badly off the bench either.
2:00pm Howard @ St. Francis (NY)
2:30pm USC vs. New Mexico State – New Mexico State had Arizona two days ago and no he has USC. Hernst Laroche will have his hands full trying to check Trojans’ leading scorer Maurice Jones. The same could be said if Tyrone Watson is guarding Bryce Jones, the Trojans’ third leading scorer. This will be another good early test for these guys.
3:00pm Iowa State @ Creighton – Belleville, ON native Jamie Vanderbeken seems to have revived himself for his senior season. He’s playing great through Iowa State’s first three games showing the promise that he had when he first committed to the Cyclones. Melvin Ejim on the other hand is playing great as a freshman starter through three games. This is an inside/outside combo you should try to take in.
3:05pm Illinois State @ Arkansas-Little Rock
4:00pm Charleston Southern @ Richmond
7:00pm Bethune-Cookman @ Santa Clara – Marc Trasolini is a player that I have had big expectations for this season and so far he’s living up to them. He’s scored more, rebounded more and passed more and is playing great defense. Bethune-Cookman will likely not be a great opponent for the Broncos but it will give Traz some practice for the bigger games.
7:30pm Minnesota @ West Virginia
8:00pm Arkansas-Pine Bluff @ Stanford
8:30pm Louisiana Tech @ UC Irvine – Another game with Olu Ashoalu and I’ll tell you to watch this game. Will he get his fourth double-double of the season?
