Recently, I appeared on a podcast done by the folks at WizardsXTRA.
We talked about the Toronto Raptors, and their recent success, and also discussed Toronto's complete dominance of their Washington crew so far this season.
Yes, the Raps are 3 and 0 against the Wiz, with a win tonight representing a complete sweep of the season series.
As to Toronto's dominance, I noted that it was on the defensive end of the court that the clubs diverged in these contests as while the Raps were allowing under 90 points a game in the series, the Wizards, simply weren't able to get key stops when needed. Toronto had also done a great job in terms of certain individual matchups, limiting John Wall late in games, and keeping Bradley Beal pretty much in check altogether.
It also helps that the Raps will face a Wizards club now without Nene, who thanks to a sprained MCL, will likely miss the next six weeks.
Washington's signed Drew Gooden to help out, but that move likely doesn't swing the balance much as Toronto closes in on a season sweep of the Wiz.
GO RAPS!
