New Orleans Pelicans vs Toronto Raptors

February 10, 2014

TSN2 - 7:00 PM EST

If you noticed the logo above, perhaps you're thinking "hey Franchise, that's not the Pelicans logo."

Nope, it's not.

Look, I like the whole Pelicans angle but that mascot and logo? No thanks. So for now I guess I'm going with the boycott angle and using the old Hornets' sign until things get regulated because I don't know what's going on with that Bird Monster.

Incidentally, I'm not sure what's going on with the New Orleans' basketball team either. Anthony Davis indeed looks like a franchise-talent but between injuries to key guys like Jrue Holiday and Ryan Anderson, and under-performers like Tyreke Evans (and maybe, unlike me, you thought Austin Rivers would be more than D League fodder), this team seems to be a bit like the Chris Bosh era Raptors, albeit in a better conference. They don't seem to be going anywhere fast.

That doesn't mean this won't be a good test tonight though, especially with Toronto looking to snap a two-game losing streak.
