The follies of the Atlantic Division have been well-documented. The Toronto Raptors lead the division with a record of six wins and seven losses and, well, the rest of their inter-divisional competition has been even worse.
This wasn't supposed to be the case of course. Most pundits had picked the Dinos to be sitting in third when the final bell tolled on the current NBA season with the New York Knicks and tonight's opponent, the Brooklyn Nets, battling it out for top spot.
However as we're all well aware, that hasn't transpired, and the two Gotham city franchises are a mess.
Therefore instead of a potential loss to help with the pre-season "Riggin' for Wiggins" talk, tonight's match, especially against a Nets team missing at least Deron Williams and Brook Lopez, suddenly looks like another stepping stone en route to locking up a playoff spot in the beleaguered Eastern Conference.
In addition, this week RaptorsHQ is proud to announce its crew of liveblog moderators for this season's games; Harsh Dave, Sarah Nols and Kenneth Tan! You may have seen them in chats past but they'll be running these threads for us going forward, with Harsh kicking things off tonight.
Take it away Harsh and...
GO RAPS!
