"I think whether it’s a starting combination of Jose with Kyle backing him up or vice-versa … we’ve got two very solid starting-calibre point guards and it’s not easy to find that combination,"
The fact Colangelo even said this comment is incredible to me. They acquired a player who for the first half of last season was playing wtih the elite level point guards of the NBA, unfortunately he got injured and lost his starting spot, but was so unhappy about the fact that he lost it that he demanded to be traded or the coach fired. Kudos, to the
Rockets for sticking with McHale and not letting the player run the team. Fortunately for the
Raptors we acquired what could be the point guard of the future. Whether you like the deal or not the fact is Lowry could be the Point guard of the future. However, in his first media conference with Lowry Colangelo says, that beautiful little tid bit about Jose possibly starting.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
Lowry got out of Houston because he felt he is a starting NBA pg, this was obvious when you acquired him. Yet in the first conference you create controversy over who should be the starting pg?
While I am not anti-Colangelo, this really irked me. They have openly been shopping Calderon, have a pg who wants to run his own team but yet you create controversy? Why bother getting him if you weren't going to hand the team over to him.
