It's Monday so it's once again time to check in on our weekly Power Tankings, a look at the worst teams in the NBA and how they're doing in the race to the bottom in hopes of lottery glory.
When we last left our heroes, the Raps had won a couple upset matches, pushing them to a projected eighth place finish by season's end. The team needed to start losing again, and needed some help from teams like Sacramento, New Jersey and Golden State. (Aka, the Dinos needed those clubs to start winning.)
However even though the Raps returned to their losing ways, it didn't adjust the rankings much, essentially keeping the Raps hovering around the sixth spot win percentage wise, and as of now, projected to finish with the league's seventh worst record:
Rank Team Name Likelihood of Winning Lottery Projected Wins Games Remaining 1 24.6% 7 3 2 20.2% 19 3 3 16.1% 21 2 4 10.5% 21 2 5 10.1% 22 3 6 5.5% 23 2 7 4.4% 23 3 8 3.5% 24 2 9 2.1% 25 2 10 0.9% 32 3
(Based on Hollinger Playoff Odds from Monday, April 23.)
A game tonight against the Bucks, who are still clinging to playoff hopes, should be an L, so Toronto's final game of the season against the New Jersey Nets on Thursday could indeed decide the Raptors' lottery fate.
