A late April game with potentially big implications, but not of the playoff kind.
Yes, the Raptors and Pistons for what now seems like the fifth year in a row, are fighting it out for NBA draft lottery positioning with the winner of today's match becoming the loser; the loser as in moving slightly ahead of their opponent record-wise and therefore having worse odds at the NBA's number one overall pick in the upcoming draft.
Right now the Raps hold the advantage, but they need an L to make sure they stay close to teams like the Warriors in full tank mode.
The Pistons are coming off a stretch of six games in eight days so the rested Raps on paper should have an advantage. But the Raps may be without Jose Calderon so on the talent test, well, the Pistons get the nod.
I guess we'll just have to see how this one goes...
