RaptorsHQ Lunchbox Links for January 19, 2012
Basketball Prospectus introduced a new offensive rating called Four Pettinella Score (PET). And guess what? The Toronto Raptors' own Andrea Bargnani ranked among the top 10 so far this season.
Hardwood Paroxysm offered up a comparison of PER and Usage Rates for every team in the NBA.
Courtside Analyst looked at the 2011-12 NBA MVP Race using Marginal Win Score. While Bargnani was nowhere to be found on the list, Jose Calderon was actually ranked 19th.
Bargnani and Calderon were mentioned in Ryan Wolstat's NBA Fantasy Report.
The NBeh? blog examined the season at a glance through game 13 and offered a few reasons why the Dinos are on pace to post a 16-50 record.
Fans pay 30 cents per ticket to watch the Raptors play the Wizards in Washington.

I’ve become accustomed to the invariable inclusion of Andrea Bargnani and advanced stats in D-Stance’s Lunchbox Links. This new feature where those links do not indicate that he is the worst player in the league is a little jarring.
I've been looking at the sky
Dude, I’m still adjusting to this new reality myself. I’m huddled in a corner, shaking while repeating “small sample size, small sample size”…

haha
I appreciate the joke, but if it does, is it really bad news?
Bad news?
Not at all. If – and it’s a big IF – Bargnani has suddenly figured it out in his 6th season and become a reasonable facsimile of Dirk Nowitzki, I’m happy to see what he can do when the overall talent improves.
I think this team as the right coach in place. They made a shrewd selection with the Valanciunas pick. And hopefully they hit a couple of more homeruns in the upcoming draft and free agency.
