Done and done
Also, I think the stuff on Tristan Thompson puts his non-participation with the national team in better perspective. Reading his comments I have a reasonable amount of hope that we will see him representing Canada in the future.
On a slightly related note, I am sure that Tristan will benefit as a person from continuing his studies. However, I wonder if he will fall behind his peers a bit by practicing with the Longhorns rather than going to one of those intensive workout places that specialize in NBA physical training. I guess if the whole season is cancelled he can always do that next summer….
So what happened to Kevin Thomas?
Quote from the Toronto Sun:
"Brampton’s Kevin Thomas will not be joining the Texas Longhorns this season after all.
Thomas did not meet NCAA clearinghouse requirements and instead will enroll at a junior college.Thomas played at the Christian Faith Center Academy in North Carolina this season. A source told the Sun that Thomas was an A student, making the ruling puzzling."
Seems strange. Anyone know the rules or what happened?
Same thing with 7’5 C Sim Bhullar. He just decommitted this morning from Xavier due to a 11th hour clearing house decision but is ending up in enrolling New Mexico State this fall.
Texas should know what they are doing after CJ and TT last year.
Kevin Thomas didn’t meet the academic requirements is all we’re going to get. Texas can’t comment and I doubt details of the missed requirements are going to surface unless you speak to the player or people at CFC in North Carolina. Bottom line is that something is missing or has been called into question not allowing him to be eligible.
As for Bhullar, he didn’t qualify it seems for play this year and yes New Mexico State has some experience in his situation. Current redshirt freshman Danile Mullings had similar issues last season and enrolled but did not play while the school helped to clear him. I’m not sure but Renaldo Dixon could have been in a similar situation. Going here could be a better thing for him than another year of prep as he’ll be working out with the team while getting eligible.

Also
Why was Cory Joseph no where in the boxscore in tonight embarrassing loss to Brazil (seriously 4 Q1 points)?
Hurt?
Visa issues?
Leo run off another NBA level player from Canadian BBall?
Bhullar
I admire his optimism, but I think he is going to need a lot of work before he is ready to take a shot at the NBA. Switching from Xavier to New Mexico seems like a solid move if he feels he will get better support. Both have pretty good track records lately.
