BBall Night In Canada
Last night’s draft should make Canadian Basketball extremely proud.
Thompson’s stock was rising all week, All the way to # 4.
If I were the Josephs, I’d be doing cartwheels this morning. San Antonio has a shrewd draft history and there is something they see with this kid. You know he is in good hands.
I’ve read somewhere that neither seem interested in playing in the Olympics. That really disturbs me. How are we to compete when are best do not want to play for our country?
Takes some of the shine off last nights evening.
Not sure they would add much to an 2012 Olympic roster – these are still kids in my mind and need to focus on their development.
These guys should be more concerned about the 2016 Olympics.
I respectfully disagree.
A healthy Carl English is 10x the FIBA guard that CJ is at this point in time. 4 years from now, maybe that changes.
Men vs. Boys. Experience vs. Inexperience.
Same goes for TT. I’d rather have our more experienced forwards for the 2012 Oly’s. Guys like Young and Kendall aint half bad FIBA players and probably better than TT for at least the next couple years. Just a matter of time tough.
very good point ...
I like that idea of the development over playing point. I agree that a healthy Carl English is indeed a better option right now than a Cory Joseph at this point. I’m sure that both players would be great to have in the 2012 Olympics but realistically it would be better to have them playing in 2016.

TT and CJ
I’m with Tinmann on this one. Canada finished 22nd at the last World Championships. Joseph and Thompson are good enough for our national team, right now.
But if for some reason they don’t want to play for Canada, I’m more than happy to support guys like Young and Kendall who always answer the call.
