Jonny Flynn for Jose Calderon?
What do you think?
The internet is a buzz with news that Niagara Falls, New York native Jonny Flynn is on his way out of Minny after the arrival of Ricky Rubio. All sources are saying Toronto will be in the mix for Flynn, sending Calderon that way seems like the logical move, right? We lose that contract and Minnesota gain someone to help Rubio acclimitize to North America and the NBA.
I think it is a win so long as we can upgrade Bayless and have someone solid in there for Flynn to play back up for.
If we do pick up Flynn before draft night (many outlets say Flynn will be traded by then), do we still draft a point guard or are we going small forward with either Leonard or Vesely?

Alot of people for some reason dont like Flynn,
but i personaly would love to pick him up, he is still so young and looks promising, i wouldnt mind at all that trade.
yep count me
on the top of that list.
I really hope this rumour disappears.
I’m not even going to get into the stats, but does it not concern anyone that a team in a very similar situation to Toronto (ie. bad and a lack of talent) wants to trade a player that is supposedly “young and looks promising”? That Luke Ridnour took his job even at the end of season when the Wolves had no chance?
Do people really want to take a chance on a Wolves bench player as the Raps starter?….. that does not sound like a upgrade in my books.
If the idea for the Wolves is to have Jose teach their new PG… why would the Raps not want the same thing for their next PG?

Why?
The Raptors have no reason to make this trade. Maybe if the T-Wolves threw in a 2 for 5 draft pick swap, the #20 pick or some second rounders this deal might make some sense.
Calderon may be a lousy defender, but he has proven that he can run a team. Just look at his advanced stats. He is consistently one of the top Raptors in WS, WP, PER, etc…
Flynn has yet to prove he is an NBA-level PG. Maybe he can do it in the future, but he hasn’t shown it so far.
Why would the Raptors give up something for nothing? They are not that hard up for cap space.
Well its not so much the cap space,
i just think that Flynn, who i have fait in and think well become a pretty decent player, is much younger then Jose and he could really work with our young core in the futur. Our young core is getting pretty good James Johnson is improving emensly to me and to have Derozan and Davis we really have a nice young group of talent why not get a young PG, then who ever we get in the draft could prove to be a big piece, and hey it never helps to have a bit more Cap space.
Calderon may be a lousy defender, but he has proven that he can run a team???????
Wtf are u talking about run what team , u mean out of the playoffs or not make the playoffs ,,, com on son ,
Flynn has more talent in his middle finger than caldron has showed us from his time here , And your NBA level PG doesn’t make sense , Caldron plays like he’s not in the Nba yet he get paid like a good players which he’s not , Caldron is nothing , worthless sorry its true , he has no heart
Playoffs
The Raptors have been in the playoffs twice with Calderon playing point. The T-Wolves haven’t been in the playoffs since before Calderon entered the league.
Next question?
simply put
Flynn will NEVER be the pg that Jose has been. If Jose is not an NBA level PG, plays like he’s not in the NBA and is worthless…. I would say that puts Flynn in the category of not even good enough to watch WNBA ball.

There is another crazy rumor
This time Raptors trade Derozan and the 5th pick in the draft for Flynn and Minny’s second pickj.
