Triano Out as Head Coach

Jay Triano is out as head coach of the Toronto Raptors.

The NBA team says it will not exercise its option on his contract for next season.

Triano will be retained as a consultant and a special assistant to president and general manager Bryan Colangelo.

The Raptors say the search for a new head coach will commence immediately.

There is no definitive timetable for the completion of the search process.

Triano, a native of Niagara Falls, Ont., guided the Raptors to a record of 87-142 during his time as head coach.

Good or Bad

I’m a huge believer in consistency in the NBA is the key to success, if you look at the teams who have had the most success over the last few years they have had the same star, coach and management. While there are a few exceptions (Miami Heat) the key to long-term success in the NBA is consistency.

If the Raptors want to go anywhere from here they need a coach for the long term! With Adelman still available I think he should be at the top of the list, he has the uncanny ability to get the most out of his players and teach them how to play in the NBA.

Finally, took them long enough wow , since hedo, bosh and unspoken players he’s gone , now we have a future , i believe , i believe, i believe , Lets go raptors , now what we need is a coach like Sam Mitchel and a little Triano , but less triano , we need a leader

Sorry my post are a little sporadic.

Talent is the key though in the NBA you look at Boston.

Doc Rivers is know thought of as one of the best coaches in the NBA but before the big three came along the Celtics were horrible, last in the nba. So before we all go blaming Triano remember the talent he had. The fact is this roster still has holes that no coach will be able to fix but what we need is a coach that the players will respect and listen to and teaches them the NBA game.

Triano deserved better

He should have gotten at least another season to prove himself. We’ll that’s life and the business of professional sports.

With the roster the Raptors have, it would be doubtful that any coach could do better than Triano did.

Poor triano Nope he's a lap dog

Only reason u people care is because he’s Canadian and he played on the national team big Deal , means nothings to me , he sucks as a coach from the start and it didn’t get better , u people talk about talent but when he had it for 2 years , did nothing with it , so please and the hedo thing shows how a piss job he took with players , THe buck have about the same talent wise as the raptors, but they have a better coach and they show how awful the raptors are when they played them every time, and u say 3 years of nothing , but give him another try WHy , he’s a Weak leader and he feeds Andrea Pasta off the court , its time to go , how can a coach talk about a fox hole when he’s never been in one , doc river been there so u know he has experience ect, and dont say Miami or Boston 3 cause then u really need a coach like those guys
