Cleveland Cavs End of Year Rapup
Predicted Outcome: 38-44, third place Central Divison
Currently: 15-61, fifth place Central Division (6 games remaining in the season)
We all knew that the Cleveland Cavaliers were going to struggle. It was a foregone conclusion. They had their heart and soul cut out when Lebron James, the face of the franchise for seven years, packed his bags to move South for the Winter. Yet nobody could have predicted how fast and devastating their fall from grace would be. Too only win 15 games after winning two straight 60 win seasons was definitely a shock to the system. Who would have even guessed would crash and burn as they did this season?
Despite the loss of James, the Cavs essentially had the same team they have had for the two previous seasons. They had three veteran players who knew how to win in Mo Williams, Anderson Varejao, and Antawn Jamison along with a young up and comer in JJ Hickson. I expected those four players to at least step up and provide some kind of leadership and fill in the huge vacuum that Lebron left. That unfortunately did not happen. ( . . . continued)
