Detroit Pistons End of Season Wrap Up
Predicted Outcome: 20-62, fifth place Central Division
Currently: 29-52, fourth place Central Division (1 game left)
It was already a foregone conclusion that the Detroit Pistons would be terrible coming into this season. The Pistons were already a mess after wasting all of its salary cap space on two duds that go by the names of Ben Gordon and Charlie Villaneuva. The team’s lone bright spot last season, rookie Jonas Jerebko, fell to injury and was lost for the entire seaon. Their only notable signing last summer was a broken down and washed up Tracy McGrady. Nobody, even their fans expected much from them this season
Detroit has been only fortunate enough to be nestled in an extremely terrible Central Division. Save for the Eastern Conference leading Chicago Bulls, the entire Central Division has been garbage. None of the other teams have reached .500, let alone have a winning record. The Indiana Pacers, the only other Central Division team to make the playoffs, only did so by scraped together just 37 wins. Right behind Indiana were the underwhelming Milwaukee Bucks with just 34 wins to their credit. All the Pistons need to do is just win their last game and they will just blend in as another 30 win team in a rather pathetic division. (To Be Continued)
