The NC-Double-Eh Schedule - Dec. 29

As the January approaches, we are getting a whole lot of games on both sides getting jammed in here before the holiday break is over for the players. With that in mind, check out what is on tap today and there are some good ones including Kris Joseph and Syracuse, Tyler Murray and Wagner, Junior and Marquette, Devoe and Olu and Oregon and a whole whack of ladies action right here ...

Star-divide

Remember that you can find the full list of players playing in Division 1 right here.

7:00pm Elon @ North Carolina

7:00pm Harvard @ Boston College - Last year, Harvard's Laurent Rivardhad a career best 23 points against Boston College in the Eagles' nest. Now on a ranked Crimson team can he do it again tonight?

7:00pm Campbell @ North Carolina State

7:00pm Sacred Heart @ New Hampshire

7:00pm Penn @ Davidson- Davidson's Nik Cochran had a season high 21 points in the upset win over Kansas two weeks ago but he followed that up with a 9 point game in the tight 73-65 loss to UMass. Let's see if he can reclaim that stroke in this game.

7:00pm Austin Peay @ Eastern Kentucky

7:00pm Iona @ Hofstra

7:05pm Maine @ Florida Gulf Coast - Do I need to explain why we think that you should watch Maine and Justin Edwards again? I hope not but in case we do, he's the four time recipient of the America East Conference Rookie of the Week and that should be enough. By the way, forward Mike Allison is looking good since returning to the lineup three weeks ago.

8:00pm Detroit @ Illinois-Chicago

8:00pm Arkansas-Little Rock @ North Texas

8:00pm Marshall @ Belmont

8:00pm Tennessee Tech @ SIU-Edwardsville

8:30pm Tennessee-Martin @ Tennessee State

9:00pm Oregon @ Washington State - I don't think Devoe Josephhas had a "bad" game since suiting up for Oregon this season. When he's not scoring he's doing little things to get a win like grabbing 8 rebounds and dishing 3 assists in the 55-45 win over Stephen F Austin and he's really transitioned well with this team. Since this is the Ducks' first conference game, look for the intensity to be higher on both ends and Joseph to be extra amped. Olu Ashaolu has seemed to be steady with reduced minutes in the last few games.

9:00pm Coppin State vs. San Jose State

9:00pm USC @ California

9:00pm Wagner vs. Air Force- In Wagner's 59-54 near upset of Pitt Dec. 23, Tyler Murray shot well but only took five field goal attempts. The upside is that he made three of them and they were all threes and Murray has been shooting the trey a whole lot better this season. I know that he isn't the guy to demand touches but for Wagner to have a shot at beating Air Force, who are coming off a shellacking by Gonzaga, Murray will need to get more than five shot attempts.

9:00pm Idaho State @ Weber State

9:00pm Vanderbilt @ Marquette - In Marquette's 64-50 win over Milwaukee Dec. 22, Junior Cadougan had a career night tying his highest point total with 15 and grabbing a new career high 7 rebounds. What he didn't do was deliver assists though registering only one in 30 minutes. He'll likely be needed to distribute more in this game against Vanderbilt though for the Golden Eagles to pull out a win, I think.

10:00pm UC Irvine @ Cal State Northridge

11:00pm UCLA @ Stanford

11:15pm Eastern Michigan @ Santa Clara

And here is where the ladies are playing today ...(Again, sorry for the lack of witty descriptions for the ladies today. The internet was intermittent during the day and I am writing this with less than 5 hours before my work day. I'll get back to the little blurbs for the ladies shortly but I did highlight the games you should take a look at.)

2:00pm Iona @ Colgate

4:30pm Elon vs. Wagner

5:00pm Georgetown vs. Vermont

5:00pm High Point vs. Cincinnati

6:00pm Siena @ Maine

6:00pm NJIT @ Buffalo

6:15pm St. Francis (PA) @ Seattle U

7:00pm Harvard @ Hartford

7:00pm Delaware @ Maryland

7:00pm Rider @ Mount St. Mary's

7:00pm Loyola (MD) @ Towson

7:00pm Niagara @ Syracuse

7:00pm Massachusetts @ Virginia

7:00pm Butler @ Detroit

7:30pm Rhode Island @ Lehigh

7:30pm Fairfield @ Connecticut

8:00pm Southern Utah @ UMKC

8:00pm IPFW @ North Dakota State

8:00pm Illinois-Chicago @ Green Bay

9:00pm Alcorn State @ North Carolina State

10:00pm Washington State @ Oregon

10:00pm Texas Tech vs. Cal Bakersfield

10:00pm Gonzaga @ Portland

11:00pm Florida Gulf Coast @ Hawaii
