Tonight's Marquee Match Up is an old fashioned Texas shootout with Longhorns looking to stampede over the Aggies. Find out where everyone else is playing tonight right here ...
Marquee Match Up
9:00pm Texas A&M @ Texas
With the schedule that Texas plays and the conference they play in, every game seems like a big game and this is one of them. Texas A&M is ranked in the Top 25, just like the Longhorns, and can put up points in bunches. The Aggies have knocked off three ranked teams this season including 13th ranked Missouri in OT in their last game. Both Cory Joseph and Tristan Thompson have been playing well in January with Thompson being this week’s Rookie of the Week selection. They both seem to save their big efforts for games like this so we may be in for a show in the Lone Star State.
And here is where everyone else is playing tonight …
7:00pm Northeastern @ Delaware
7:00pm Xavier @ St. Bonaventure – Andrew Nicholson had been on a tear all season but in the last four games, he’s been kept in check of sorts. If you don’t include the 34 point, 7 rebound triple overtime game against Charlotte on Jan. 8, Nicholson is averaging 10.7 points and 3 rebounds in 24.3 minutes. Those are far cries from his season averages of 20.6 and 7.9. This could be the game for Nicholson to get back on track to being that monster he was before the New Year.
7:00pm George Washington @ Richmond
7:00pm Lafayette @ Bucknell – This game features two very good Canadians in Lafayette’s Jared Mintz and Bucknell’s Bryson Johnson. Mintz does his damage from the inside out and Johnson does his almost exclusively from the outside. Neither team is shy about pulling the trigger so it should be a fun game to watch.
7:30pm Central Arkansas @ Nicholls State
8:00pm McNeese State @ Southeastern Louisiana – Diego Kapelan has come off a pretty rough December to start off January on a mini tear. He’s averaging 15.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.7 steals over three games this month.
8:00pm Arkansas @ South Carolina
8:00pm Bradley @ Creighton
9:00pm Iowa State @ Oklahoma State – Iowa State and Oklahoma State are holding near mirror records so this will be a fairly even match up. For Iowa State, Jamie Vanderbeken has had a great January thus far averaging 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks while shooting 48% from the arc (16-of-33). Cyclones’ freshman Melvin Ejim is not having as good a month only averaging 8.3 points but he is averaging 7.8 boards, 1.5 assists and a steal. This game may be a dogfight.
9:00pm Drexel @ George Mason
10:00pm UC Irvine @ Cal Bakersfield
