Steve Nash
Steve Nash does enough for growing basketball in Canada. He has a cornucopia of charities in Canada and I’m pretty sure with a busy schedule like that he wants at least some time for his family. He’s under contract with the Suns; not team Canada. He has paid his dues and goes above and beyond to grow the game in Canada however just because he doesn’t play for them due too his busy schedule suddenly gives our columnists to call him out. Wow…
The Toronto Sun once again proving that they have absolutely no credibility.

no doubt
I don’t know who would even have thought that the story would make a good idea. After the debacle of the Worlds, it’s should be more about looking to long term fixes. These guys are obviously not looking at an entire body of work when it comes to Nash and have extremely short sighted notions of how to rectify and already ugly situation.

The simple fact is, you can’t construct an argument about Nash’s recent lack of involvement with the Canadian national team without exploring the politics (or whatever it was) that led to Jay Triano’s dismissal. Nash was obviously fiercely loyal to Triano, and Buffery fails to even touch on this.

Buffery’s article is typical of the Maple Leafs quick-fix-style of thinking. He is clearly a forlorn hockey writer throwing around random notions whenever he is made to write about basketball. The Sun should ease his pain by never assigning him to the hoops beat(in fact none of their bball writers are good, they clearly need to hire some fresh blood).
