The Toronto Raptors are among the suitors for centre Erick Dampier.

RaptorsHQ reader Tinmann reports that Ed Davis was spotted at a Toronto-area hospital getting an MRI on his knee. Now comes word that the Raptors have signed forward Ronald Dupree. Of course, like any good Colangelo signing, Dupree played in Europe last season.

He is a terrible GM. And, jellybeans.

No to Erick Dampier, unless it means Bargnani is on his way out. I’d rather give the minutes to the young Raptor big men so they can develop more. That’s the focus, not on veterans who can help immediately.

And is it weird that I was immediately jealous of Ed Davis getting an MRI on his knee? I’m still waiting for mine…

Oh, and speaking of Bargnani, I’ve posted the top 10 myths about him…

You are right about the fact that AB is not really a PF but he also isn’t a center. Essentially he is a 7 foot 2 guard forced to play center. The irony is if the Raptors traded for Vince Carter (or just about any other 6 7 two) and forced him to play center, they might actually be better off. I also thought it was interesting one of your readers used Yi as a bust considering he had a pretty good worlds.

I think they would be bringing in Dampier because Davis is hurt. Alabi will probably go down to the D league for development so a one year flier on Dampier is not a terrible idea.
