Would the Blazers be a good fit for Calderon?

Chisholm had an article talking about players that the Raptors could look to in the future to run the point.  His fall back guy was Andre Miller.  He thought he would be a very good fit, but is just too old to get really excited about.  He also talked about how Miller does not fit well with the slow down system that Portland runs.

Seems to me that Calderon and Miller would both do better if they were traded.  Calderon makes slightly more than Miller and has a longer deal so he would be less attractive.

Calderon for Andre Miller and Rudy Fernandez would work financially.  Would Toronto adding Miami's first round pick be close to enough to make Portland interested???  I am assuming that it probably would not, but I would certainly love this.

Please note this is not a rumour, just something that I was thinking about after reading Chisholm's article.

I think Portland actually may be a good fit considering that they enjoyed having Steve Blake.

Calderon is one of the best at taking care of the ball in the half-court and hitting a high % of his shots. Defensively, he leaves much to be desired but if Oden is back and healthy he could compensate for that easily.

What exactly do we do with Andre Miller is the question, but I don’t think we’d be any worse if we were to swap.

Andre Miller is a winner. Look at Philly when he went there. They went from being a joke to a playoff team and didn’t become a joke again until Philly let him go. Miller has his faults but having him on this team would be a blessing (assuming he didn’t have a snit about playing here).

keep Calderon!!

I like Jose..last year his stats was down becuase of Turkadoo :D. I bet Steve Nashs assist will go down this year also becuase Turk will be bringing the ball up. and thats exaclty what happened last year with JC and Turk when they was on the floor together. We need to play more of a 2-1-2 or a 1-2-2 zone this year with JC on the floor. But keep Calderon and see how he plays and if we arent winning then trade him after 40 games.

As a Portland fan

I veto this proposal. Calderon doesn’t play defense, we’re looking for a defensively minded shooter with decent court vision to be our pg. Kirk Hinrich is my dream guy for Portland.

Plus I’m pretty sure that the Blazers front office/McMillan never wants another Spainard in a Blazers uni, they haven’t had the best luck with them.
