Chris Bosh's agent has told the Toronto Raptors that he's narrowed his list of preferred teams to five, two sources told ESPN.com's Chad Ford at the NBA draft camp.

The list of five teams -- Toronto plus the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and New York Knicks, sources said -- were given to Toronto management in case the Raptors want to construct a sign-and-trade deal (assuming he doesn't re-sign with Toronto).

One source said Bosh's decision hinges on where LeBron James signs.

ewwwwww

this is disgusting. expected. but disgusting.

the trade returns will be

miami – beasley (young, with potential, but with bargs will create worst frontcourt defense ever)

LA – Andrew Bynum (everyone seems to love him, but i think this would be bad. think about a) injury prone b) he’s young, was just in LA living it up winning a championship and now he heads to Toronto. i think you know where im getting at. once his contract is up, he’s out! or will seek a trade.)

new york – who the hell are we gonna get?

Chicago – a combo of deng or kirk, james johnson, taj gibson will probably do.

*chicago wins. bye bye bosh

Why not ask for Noah?

Supposing there is a list, meaning teams competing with each other for your player…ask for the player(s) that will complement your remaining players and help your team. If a team like New York is on the list either Bosh knows for sure where LeBron is heading or he really cares more about the off-court revenue possibilities than the on-court performance of the team. One could even say that asking to go to LA suggest wanting an easy path to the title. If this is really his list of preferred teams what does it say about Bosh the competitive basketball player and is it even worth bringing him back as a focal point of this team if we as fans really want a better team in the long run? The only saving grace I see from something like this is that if the packages are equally attractive talent wise, Colangelo could use either the Calderon or Turkoglu contracts as a tie breaker. Hmmm. Calderon going to LA with Bosh for Odom & Bynum might be something that works talent wise and could be attractive to Both teams, especially if the Lakers don’t win the title this year.

I think any deal involving the bulls needs to have Noah coming back our way.

The only way I see Bosh going to chicago is if Lebron goes there which to me, means that if im colangelo, i need to be getting Noah in return because Chicago cant be that greedy. They would be getting the best player in the world and then team him up with one of the best PF’s in the game. They’d be idiots to halt a potential bosh trade just to keep noah. If Im BC i am only making the trade with CHI if im getting noah

what kind of bull caca list is that??

Is this a sick joke ?? This is I don’t see anybody I would want. Specially new york..who we gonna get from them they have like 2 people under contract, I totally am not a fan of beasley or ANYBODY on the heat roster..I guess the bulls but even there blahh

Guess he doesn’t want the pressure for playing in front of his home state

Are we surprised?

These are the only sensible options for a guy like Bosh who craves the big market environment. Those are among the biggest markets u’ll find in the NBA. We have to remember this S&T process is about Chris and not the Raptors, we have to take whatever we get, if anything. If that means Bynum, Lee, Beasely or Deng, hey its better than absolutely nothing.

nothing ?

I would be shocked if we ended up with nothing ,Bosh will not leave 30 million on the table,,,a ring is a ring,at the end of the day 30 million is 30 million.
If Bosh wants that ring and follow the king,he must be reminded that the king in all his glory, surrounded by some decent players doesn’t have a ring yet.
As much as Bosh may think he is in the drivers seat, B.C. also has a drivers license.
I agree with Tinman where is Texas?
Is this co called leak is somewhat legit,or a well planned oops, how did that info get out .

fair is fair

Hey its his freedom; and TO is still on his list…. think of that what you will….

Maybe he doesnt want to burn us just yet, … call me naive – but he’s not gone till he’s gone….

Regardless, you do have to admit that being a Rap fan over the last few years has involved alot of drama. Last off-season we had a bonanza… this summer will be full of theatrics…. of a different kind

The only team that would possibly have some value to trade for Bosh

seems like Chicago. Really don’t like the prospects Miami would have to offer, and do the Knicks even have a player under contract lol? Bynum has really bad knees, and I’m not sure Colangelo would be sold on that move. I have to admit I’m a little surprised Cleveland wasn’t on that list. They couldn’t offer him a monstrous deal, but if they resigned LBJ, why wouldn’t they part with a player and first rounder(s) to create a huge 1-2 punch?

Yes my screen name is WTF13.

I take Bynum over Deng any day of the week.

by HDave on May 22, 2010 12:06 AM EDT up reply actions

What has bynum done at all?

He has great prototypical size. Thats about it. He’s very injury prone. And plays some great games, a lot of “ok” games, and some games where you dont even notice he’s in the game. With that said, what skills does he have taht make him much better player than deng at his position?

Bynum plays along side of guys like gasol, and odem, not to mention kobe.. with all that talent, he should be cleaning up everything in the paint with ease.. I just dont see it in bynum. Whenever he’s not injured….

Toney does what the douglas do. And no one can do what he does b/c doing it without being Toney Douglas just doesnt make it do what it do

Bynum is a huge injury risk but he has the most upside of the players that are currently available in a sign and trade. Deng and Hinrich are what they are and are not going to suddenly become great players plus Deng has like at least 4 more years on his contract and 40 million dollars. He would just be another over paid player on Toronto’s Roster. Hinrich, at least his contract actually goes down. I doubt we could get Taj Gibson as the Chicago just invested in him heavily when they shipped Thomas out.
I read that Bosh’s agent denied the list as well but I take that with a grain of salt as what else is he suppose to say.

Taj Gibson is interesting

I fully agree with all your points with the exception of Gibson. He can be had. Keep in mind that Noah and Bosh would eat up the majority of minutes. Gibson would be a nice role player in behind them but certainly expendable. The deal I like is getting Gibson along with a pick and a flip of Jose with Heinrich. We would shore up our D (both Gibson and Heinrich are good defenders) and still get a trade exception to bring in another piece. From Chicago’s standpoint, they get Bosh without touching their cornerstone pieces.

by cmrm123 on May 22, 2010 11:46 AM EDT up reply actions

We would send out Taj in a heartbeat to land Bosh.

Deng is younger and a better player that Hinrich, so If Im BC I take him. Deng is only 24 and is coming off a season of 17 ppg and 7 rpg. He has 4 years left on his contract, but will only be 28 by the end of it.

We could throw in next years 1st and our 2012 Bobcats 1st (Lottery protected). The Bobcats pick becomes unprotected in 2016. With this trade you get (2) 24 year old defensive minded forwards and (2) 1st rounder, with one being a potential lottery pick.

Bosh 2010!!!!!

i need help figuring this out

if a team, such as new york, is under the cap are they able to sign bosh to a max contract without toronto? because i always hear that if bosh wants 30 mil, he will have to work with toronto in a sign and trade inorder to receive that amount. im confused. or is it 30% of the cap? i dont get it

by tea time on May 22, 2010 10:09 AM EDT reply actions

Bird rights

The team that can resign the free agent (Toronto) vs going to a new team can offer 30 million more than any other team.

This rule was created to help teams keep their franchise players.

…or at least get something in return for their franchise players if said players don’t want to stick around.

What about David Lee?

Im not definate on givign up lee for bosh. They have very similar skill sets. Taking away some athleticism of course. But is bosh worth the 6M difference? I personally dont think bosh is max level talent. Deserves money, but not max money… whats your opinions?
