I’d be very happy if it was BOTH Calderon and Turkoglu. Let the rebuilding begin!

In the comments of an old Raptors preview, dberri predicted that Raptor fans would have a specific problem with his model because of Bargnani’s -ve rating.

I have to say that I even more puzzled by Jason Kidd’s ranking as the league’s 4th most productive player.

That picture...

makes you realize just how much Bosh has bulked up since his rookie season.

WoW

Wages of Wins is great fun, but if you believe Dave Berri’s numbers then both Dwight Howard and Marcus Camby(!) are more valuable than LeBron and Pau Gasol is his equal(according to Adjusted Wins per 48). Alternatively(according to WP48), Kobe is roughly half as valuable as Jason Kidd and Troy Murphy is significantly more valuable than Chris Bosh. Maybe BC should start looking into a sign-and-trade with Indiana ;)

Wins Produced

I’ve never had the time nor the inclination to work through the math of wins produced. Franchise, i know that you like to quote from it from time to time.

But I think the 53 year old Jason Kidd producing 4 more wins than Steve Nash tells you all you need to know about this stat. Oh, he also somehow produced about 10 more wins than Kobe and that LeBron dude is not only good enough to beat out Kobe for the MVP but is about 3 times better than Kobe. Zach Randolph is about 50% better than Kobe and while we’re at it, Kevin Love also leaves Kobe in his dust.

I never liked that stat and now I know why.

I have been stating the same thing for over a year about WoW. It is a ridiculous stat that somehow gets considered legit because the numbers always seem to work out. Hmmmm.
