Hedo

I already made an annonymus comment on the Caldeford article. Simply put you guys don’t call him the “ottoman” because his averages are a little lower than normal. He’s lazy and only tries when the game is on the line and he can get some credit for a win.

The issue for me isn’t that Turk hasn’t played well, the issue is that if you knew you were going to sign Jack, as a backup pg, why on earth would you go out and overpay for a guy who is essentially most effective as a point forward. If the Raptors had signed Turk and used the mid level say for a decent scoring 2 (okay, I admit I am not sure who was available for this last season) then I think things would have turned out differently. As bad as Turk has been I actually have more anger towards Calderon who has shown that he can not be counted on as a starter in the NBA (at least at this stage of his career). His contract is equally as bad but he has been outplayed by his backup to the point that Jack stole his job and it is only because the Raptors were free falling and Triangelo wanted to make it look like they were making radical changes that Calderon got his job back. Has any Swing really out played Turk to the point where we have no doubt that they should be starting? You could argue Weems but he is more of a 2. We have seen Turk step up when Bosh was out so we know he can when he is put in a position to take advantage of his skill set. The issue is finding a way to make it work with Bosh in the lineup and that isn’t going to be easy.

I filled out the survey – but only because I feel guilty reading this awesome site and not ever clicking on the ads :)
