Raptors Rapid Recap: Toronto 100 New Jersey 90
- Not impressive. Not exciting. Not pretty. This win was however, essential. After getting destroyed by the Thunder the Raps got the job done, led by their franchise guy CB4. Bosh was dominant tonight and ensured the win despite getting limited help. Bosh finished with 36 points and 7 rebounds. He had the inside and outside game going and simply abuse the Nets front court.
- Speaking of limited help...the rest of Toronto's starters were far from impressive. Andrea Bargnani looked completely disinterested and the backcourt duo of Calderon and DeRozan brought little to the table. Kudos to the players who did know the importance of this game, including Antoine Wright and Jarrett Jack.
- It's been tough for the Raps fans lately but can you even imagine being a Nets fan. This team just imploded after a decent first half. They just don't play smart basketball and don't have enough talent to fight through those mistakes. There were about 1000 people there last night and that's being generous. For Nets fans I do hope they win the lottery.
- Other key's to the game? The Raps finally outrebounded their opponents, kept the turnovers to a minimum and for the first time in what feels like eons, outscored their opponent in the third quarter.
- Hard to get excited about this win though. After the humilitation suffered on Friday night the Raps are going to need a signature win to really get the fans back onside. Beating the lowly Nets is far from being a noteworthy accomplishment. It is however a chance for this team to start feeling better about itself.

There was a game tonight?
I actually assumed the game was tomorrow. But I have a good excuse. I was participating in something called the Great Urban Race LA — it’s sort of an “Amazing Race Lite”, and my wife and I came 6th out of some 400+ teams. They’re coming to Toronto this summer, and it’s really fun, so if you like that sort of thing you should check it out.
Rules are basically that you have to walk/run/public transit your way around the city. Everyone has the same 12 tasks and each team is given the same not-too-tough clues for all the tasks at the begninning. You’re allowed to skip one of the 12. The real strategy comes in figuring out the most efficient order to do them in and get back to the start/finish line as fast as possible. Took us about 2 hours 45 mins to finish.
Sounds like Bosh put the boys on his back tonight. Great to see. I think a little winning streak or a good stretch will get em believing again, and maybe we can recapture some of that January magic.
So, he plays Marco 24 minutes, last night, he plays really well, next night DNP, and you guys can barely beat the Nets…. no wonder you guys are collapsing with Bargs getting 40+++ minutes a game over Amir Johnson….and DD….terrible.
Nellie needs to go! but while we suffer....John Wall or Evan Turner please!
I did not watch yestarday game or the one with the nets but
it becomes apparent something broke down in that locker room and that is the mothe rof all problems. This is both a good and a bad thing as the problem can keep you from winning, and at the same time there is nothing like winning to cure that problem.
