What time is the game? 10:00 EST?

The Score says 10:30 EST, at least according to my Shaw Cable Box

Shaw's on Drugs

It’s on the Score now, tipping in 10.

Tonight

It’s going to be interesting to see how the Raps come out here after last night’s loss. A good start is a must.

They had a good start against the Lakers

I prefer a good finish :)

But ya, I know what you mean

Wow. Crazy scenario but imagine if the Celtics fell right out of the playoffs??

Celtics out of the Playoffs

Patriots “dynasty” crumbling
Red Sox gettin’ old

Screw you Bill Simmons!

No kidding haha. I never thought the C’s would be this bad, even with injuries. I really thought Daniels and Wallace would be a boost.

This has...

all the makings of a let down game. Hopefully the starters set the tone.

I had a lengthy post about my observations from Staples Center last night

But something happened to it.

Anyways, Bosh 3 was one of my favorite live sporting moments I’ve ever seen. And there’s something amazing about hearing 20,000 people gasp when they see Jose lining up an open 3 in the final minute.

Jack was the best Raptor on the floor last night by far. It wasn’t close. Amazing game.

Wasn't great

But we got some calls early on — refs let a brutal travel by #7 go on a dunk.

Another of my fav moments from last night:

Laker fan near me, yelling, after another Weems jumper, “somebody guard that guy!”

Calls

I thought there were about as many bad calls in each direction, but the early foul trouble on Wright and Hedo really hurt us in the 3d quarter.

3d quarter felt like Lakers were going to score every time they touched the ball. They really could smell that the Raptors were scrambling, and that as a result every offensive board was up for grabs.

by Aaron Craig on Mar 10, 2010 10:22 PM EST up reply actions

Hedo has been rewarded with a ridiculous contract (his last big NBA contract) and has no reason to put forth effort or work on his game. We’ll get to watch an overpaid hack with the intensity of a guy playing pickup at the Y for the next 5 years. Awesome.

No respect from Kobe

Quotes from Kobe after the game were to the effect that the Lakers played a horrible game. I think we’re just a tough matchup for them, for whatever reason — lack of Lakers depth, bad defense at the 1, whatever.

by Aaron Craig on Mar 10, 2010 10:26 PM EST reply actions

Who gives a crap

Difference between NCAA and NBA is so huge now — anybody who’s any good leaves after one year. Maybe it’s that the LA schools are having a down year, I dunno. I’ve just always been an NBA guy.

2 hands reggie

These tip back rebounds are not always so effective.

by Aaron Craig on Mar 10, 2010 10:40 PM EST reply actions

Inside scoring

Toronto should be going inside on almost every possession here. Kings are undersized and lack mobility from a lot of their “bigs.”

by RaptorsHQ - Franchise on Mar 10, 2010 10:40 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Was that a zone?

I couldn’t tell. Another area where Devlin sucks.

by RaptorsHQ - Franchise on Mar 10, 2010 10:55 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

If the Raps lose this game...

… it will be because they stopped going inside for easy buckets, started chucking ridiculous outside shots, and failed to play any defence.

I don't get DeMar

He’s had a ton of opportunities to attack, especially with the shot clock winding down!

by RaptorsHQ - Franchise on Mar 10, 2010 11:00 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Halftime Thoughts

45 to 40 Toronto…but hardly a convincing lead for the Raps. Team has been ok, but against most other teams in the league they’d be down. In the second half Toronto needs to get back to pounding the ball inside like they did early in the game.

by RaptorsHQ - Franchise on Mar 10, 2010 11:06 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Sacramento's visitors locker room

Man, that shot of the Raps crowded in the visitors locker room was super jokes. It’s like they’re chilling at a high school, not an NBA arena. LOL

by HDave on Mar 10, 2010 11:19 PM EST reply actions

I don't know if anybody caught pre-game on Raps TV last night.....

but you know how they show all the players as they walk into the arena. Well our boy Hedo is shown getting a drive in on a golf cart! I kid you not. The only thing that would’ve made it more perfect is if he had a slice of pizza in one hand and a Sprite in the other.

by HDave on Mar 10, 2010 11:34 PM EST up reply actions

by dbonds on Mar 10, 2010 11:35 PM EST up reply actions

I can understand how a Raps fan feel that way.

But from a Kings POV (which I possess naturally), it’s nice to see how the Kings came out in the 3rd. TO is a playoff team, and on more nights will be better than the Kings this year, but still it makes little difference. TO’s weaknesses were routinely exploited in that 3rd qtr.

I'm not sure Donald Sterling is a human being. He had to have been manufactured by someone, possibly David Stern, so that one team could solely just make profit for the NBA while doing nothing good for themselves. -- Aykis 16

Yea, so its not that bad actually..

by HDave on Mar 11, 2010 12:11 AM EST up reply actions

Yeah its really not.

But I never judge +/- by single games anyway. I won’t use them in any batch smaller than a single season.

ya but that stat is deceiving tongiht….the careless turnovers and lack of enthusiasm are what pisses me off about him. its like he doesnt care that he is playing terrible this season

by dbonds on Mar 11, 2010 12:13 AM EST up reply actions

Not quite as bad as I thought actually. Just no impact more than anything.

It happens on every team. I can point out games where it was like that with Kevin Martin too. Kevin Martin doesn't suck does he? LOL

I wouldn’t call that an exceptional first half at all, Mr. Devlin

by HDave on Mar 11, 2010 12:09 AM EST reply actions

Like the Raptors tonigt, Devlin has been exceptionally bad.

Also like the Raptors, he usually is

by HDave on Mar 11, 2010 12:12 AM EST up reply actions

up 5 at half..

against the kings…not exceptional at all

Absolutely no pride, just let Garcia lay it up

by HDave on Mar 11, 2010 12:14 AM EST reply actions

You know to be honest…I really dont see the team coming out THIS flat if they had Sam Mitchell. Just saying. If he did something well, it was getting a message across to the players.

by HDave on Mar 11, 2010 12:15 AM EST reply actions

Your absolutely right. He couldn’t draw up a play to save his life, but the Sam Mitchell’s team always played hard

by Mistafitz on Mar 11, 2010 12:16 AM EST up reply actions

Good point. Going to mention that in the recap tomorrow.

Turning point

Scary to say, but during the draft this summer, we might be looking back at this game as the one that tipped the scales in terms of the Raps missing the dance.

by RaptorsHQ - Franchise on Mar 11, 2010 12:15 AM EST via mobile reply actions

Circling this day on the calendar.

by HDave on Mar 11, 2010 12:16 AM EST up reply actions

If i were him, I go to NY so i get to feast on this defence 4 times a year

by HDave on Mar 11, 2010 12:17 AM EST up reply actions

Yep, was going to say that too but too scared to type the words.

by dbonds on Mar 11, 2010 12:15 AM EST reply actions

LOL first career triple double is against the Raptors. Thats fitting.

by HDave on Mar 11, 2010 12:19 AM EST reply actions

Great

Raps give another player a first or a record.

Team meeting tomorrow?

This team cannot afford to blow Friday’s game vs GS.

by Mistafitz on Mar 11, 2010 12:20 AM EST reply actions

That one is set up for us to lose. GS might drop 160 on us

by HDave on Mar 11, 2010 12:21 AM EST up reply actions

Not much to say

Thanks to all for dropping by to chat during what was one of the worst losses of the season. Rapid recap up in a bit and we’ll be breaking it down in the AM.

by RaptorsHQ - Franchise on Mar 11, 2010 12:23 AM EST via mobile reply actions

Good luck on the rest of the season and have a good night.
