NC-Double-Eh Schedule - Feb 5

Today's super Saturday is a really good one pack with great NCAA action.  Lots of Canadians are taking the floor today with the big game coming in the form of the 13th ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs featuring Rob Sacre, Manny Arop, Bol Kong and Kelly Olynyk going up against the Memphis Tigers at 4:00pm EST.  Check out who else is playing when right here ...

As always, check out the games we've highlighted because those are the games we think you should definitely peep.  Also check with the Can Ball Report's Twitter feed for any game links we find for your viewing pleasure.

Feb 6

12:00pm Binghamton @ Maine – so we have a great game of young talent.  Burntowski and Allison from Maine were both members of the now defunct NEDA program formerly run by Canada Basketball and Lukusa of Binghamton has been the defensive stalwart for Binghamton.  With Maine playing for a stop at the top and Binghamton playing spoiler with a surprisingly decent season, this should be a good one.

12:00pm Fairleigh Dickinson @ Monmouth

12:00pm Marquette @ Providence

2:00pm Duquesne @ George Washington

2:00pm (11) Kansas @ Iowa State

2:00pm Minnesota @ Penn State – with another backcourt player leaving the program, Pickering’s Devoe Joseph is a good bet to stay in the starting lineup.  He’s had solid performances since being inserted in the starting lineup a few weeks ago and as we know steady wins the race to win to the permanent starting job for next year.

2:00pm (17) Temple @ Richmond

2:00pm St Francis (NY) @ Long Island

2:00pm Detroit @ Valparaiso

3:00pm Vermont @ UMBC – this game was moved to yesterday due to inclimant where the Catamounts beat the Retrievers soundly 79-60.  Maurice Joseph had 13 points, a rebound and an assist in 23 minutes.

3:30pm Lafayette @ Holy Cross – the Leopards are tied with Lehigh for the best record in the Patriot League but it doesn’t mean anything when every game is a tooth and nail battle.  Toronto’s Jared Mintz should have a good game here since the Crusaders do not have a big that can handle him in the middle.

3:30pm Bryant University @ Central Connecticut State

4:00pm (10) Texas @ Oklahoma

4:00pm (13) Gonzaga @ Memphis – this will probably be the game to watch today when it comes to our Canadians in the NCAA.  Memphis is a team with big time talent and this will be as big a challenge as Duke was in Madison Square.  The Tigers are small but athletic.  The Zags should be able to match up favorably and they will need the athleticism of Arop and Bong as well as size of Sacre and Olynyk to win against Memphis.

4:00pm Delaware State @ North Carolina A&T

4:00pm St Bonaventure @ Saint Joseph’s – the Bonnies face another team in the conference that has fallen on hard times.  Look for Andrew Nicholson to have a good outing here after missing his only game this season two games ago due to illness.

5:00pm McNeese State @ Texas State

5:30pm Texas-Pan American @ Chicago State

7:00pm East Tennessee State @ Stetson

7:00pm Yale @ Columbia

7:00pm Brown @ Cornell

7:00pm Kent State @ Central Michigan

7:00pm Jacksonville @ Eastern Kentucky

7:00pm Buffalo @ Toledo

7:00pm Georgia Southern @ Davidson

7:00pm Mount St Mary’s @ Wagner

7:00pm Appalachian State @ Western Carolina

7:04pm Chattanooga @ Citadel

7:30pm Stanford @ USC

8:00pm Troy @ Western Kentucky

8:00pm Cal Northridge @ Long Beach State

8:00pm Nicholls State @ Texas A&M-CC

8:00pm Southern Utah @ North Dakota State

8:00pm Central Arkansas @ Sam Houston State

8:05pm Elon @ Furman

8:30pm Santa Clara @ San Diego – even if the Broncos are residing in the West Coast Conference basement, they can still be the spoiler.  Vancouver’s Marc Trasolini is having a great season and is coming off an 18 point, 5 rebound performance against a very good Saint Mary’s team two days ago.

8:30pm UMKC @ South Dakota State

9:00pm San Jose State @ New Mexico State – the third best team in a seemingly upgraded WAC Conference will look to post a win tonight.  Having shouldered the bulk of the point duties this season, Montreal’s Hernst Laroche came close one assist shy of tying his season’s best of ten against what may be the league representative in the NCAAs so look for him to possibly duplicate the effort tonight.

10:35pm Cal Bakersfield @ UC Irvine

1:05am Fresno State @ Hawaii
