The multi-million dollar question.....
After the post by Franchise we thought we would gauge the pulse of the HQ community on CB4's future.

and pray that he takes it !!!
Ya,I want him to sign as much as the next guy,but I’m not getting on my hands and knees.
If he leaves its going to be because he wants to leave period.all the money in the world isn’t going to change his mind.
I cannot believe that 28 people have voted "No Way"
Bosh is a max money player simply because he will be offered max money by someone.
Guess what, there are a lot of players earning max money who are not named LeBron, Kobe, or Wade. It’s the cost of getting a very good player. Very good players and franchise players earn max money.
Sorry, but if you don’t offer CB4 max money, he walks. And without offering max money, you won’t get any of the other very good players either. You’ll end up with a team of scrubs and second line players (such as Detroit for example) and you will not win a championship that way.

But you'll have the moral victory
of not overpaying your players! Hooray for profitable ownership!
Yeah, no. You’re absolutely correct. Sitting around for decades waiting for the next Lebron to fall into your lap is no way to build a team.

Overpaying?
CB4 would not be overpaid by basketball standards if he was to get a max deal.
Very disappointed by the results above. Thank goodness BC is making these decisions and it’s not a democracy.
This club would be nowhere, nowhere, without CB4. In an age where dominant big man have gone the way of the dodo bird, we have the best in the league. Either most fans don’t understand the business side of basketball or they just completely underestimate CB4s talent. Or maybe it’s because we are Canadian and we make a sport out of thinking we will be jilted so it’s better to break up lest we be left alone at the alter.
Either way it’s troubling.
Just another reason why we really should not be delving into the realm of finances but stick to on court discussions. I just lost respect for 68% of, thankfully, anonymous posters.
Totally agree
He’s not at the Lebron-Kobe-Wade etc level, but you lose him and this team goes back to the lottery in my books. Or as siggian said:
You’ll end up with a team of scrubs and second line players (such as Detroit for example) and you will not win a championship that way.
I’ve been down that road far too many times as a fan of this team…

Toronto isn’t winning a championship regardless.
Not with calderon & turkoglu being core mainstays for the next 4+ years

Yeah
It’s hard to conceive of any team with Turkoglu playing a key role having any kind of playoff success.
Now that I’ve said that, maybe I’d better just check his playoff history in case I look like an idiot…

We are paying Hedo over $10 mill a Year!!!
And people are justifying it, yet Bosh is not a max deal player??!! Kobe, Lebron and Wade score a little more but they also don’t pull down almost 12 rebounds a game. Sometimes I wish certain people would stick to just watching hockey.
Another great point
Poll results are baffling me right now…

I would love to hear...
from a few of the 200+ people who don’t think he is a max player….or maybe Knicks fans are voting in hopes that this convinces Bosh is not appreciated in TO.

agree with howland
I agree with howland I would love to hear what fans in there right mind wouldn’t sign 1 of if not the best power forward in the game today. It must be knicks fan hoping he leaves cause if he doesn’t get a max contract here he sure as hell will get it from the knicks.

Maybe if the questions were tweaked.
Is he deserving of a maximum value contract given his level of play in comparison to other players on the team and other players at his position around the league?
Yes.
Is all lost if a good sign and trade could be achieved?
No (and this week of games without him will give us a sense of what and how much the team should be asking for in that transaction)
Would there even be an argument about this issue if the player in question was one of Kobe, Lebron, or D-Wade
No (because the most prevalent basketball marketing and the way the game is officiated make them seem like way more dominant players even though a comparison of the glamour scoring numbers shows that Bosh is holding his own in that area)
Also be mindful of the age of Voters
If they are younger folk who happened upon the poll from some other site, I would understand some voting the way they did. To be honest, even the most ardent supporters of this team can’t say watching Bosh work is particularly “exciting.”
He’s steak, a fine satisfying steak, but not much sizzle and very few of his plays would get style points. Add to this that he’s not known as a super lock-down defender, big dunker or a blocker (the sort of components that draw some attention to bigs and get them on highlight shows) and the results sort of make sense. Remember Allen Iverson got major votes for the All-Star game this year, so I’m never surprised by poll results.

Good point – perhaps this explains the huge outcry from Raptors’ fans on the web when DeRozan didn’t make the rookie-soph game cut…even though statistically his shunning shouldn’t have been surprising.

What is crazy...
is that the question is asking whether you would offer it. I mean how can you not? You would be crucified.

duncan
has no sizzle. bosh, I do believe, does. he breaks guys down with either hand and posterizes them on the regular. and then does the avatar scream face. if that ain’t sizzle, I don’t know what is.
How is he NOT a Max player?
If Rashard Lewis is a max player, Bosh should be a super-duper max player,

rashard lewis
Craig from calgary has a good point..lewis has a max contract wth did he do to deserve that?? Numbers wise he hasn’t done anything that really outshines bosh at all.but theses are the same GM’S that are retarded enough to give someone like jerome james a hugh contract.now if that isn’t 1 of if not the worst contracts in NBA history idk what is.

I’m hoping these results are more a result of the phrasing of the question. One could argue that it appears that the question is asking "Is Bosh AS worthy of a max deal as LeBron, Wade and Kobey". I’m hoping this is the reason. The alternative is too distasteful: That despite 15 years of having a franchise in this city, Toronto fans still don’t understand the game of NBA basketball. Like I said, I’m hoping it’s the former…
I voted for seeing what S&T options are out there, never the less
for those who voted for offer the max and pray he takes it, why don’t you rephrase Franchise question about the lottery in: Do you think Bosh will be the one leading this Franchise to the title? If your answer is yes fine, otherwise you are like settling for a girl who sleeps with you for fear of not being able to get the one you would really want to be with and since there are not many franchises with more than one max player, with this way of thinking, YOU are condemning yourself to be a treadmill team.
for fear of not being able to get the one you would really want to be with
