The NC-Double-Eh Schedule - Nov. 29

Today's Marquee Match Up features a battle between two mid-major Canadian guards. See who else is playing today right here ...

Star-divide

Marquee Match Up

7:00pm Wagner @ Bucknell

Tonight matchup between Wagner and Bucknell features two Canadian guards.  Wagner’s Tyler Murray was last week’s NC-Double-Eh Player of the Week so you should already have an idea of his credentials.  Bucknell has Nova Scotia native and Waterloo, ON transplant Bryson Johnson who is a more than capable player with a penchant for bombing from the three.   Murray has been a force early this season for a Seahawks team that is hovering at 2-2 while Johnson’s Bison squad has been puttering along with a 2-5 early record.  Both teams are looking to turn the corner with this game both players will look to help their team come away with the win in this one.

And for the rest of them ...

6:00pm Robert Morris @ Cleveland State

7:00pm North Carolina-Wilmington @ George Washington

7:00pm Virginia @ Minnesota – With guard Al Nolen and Rodney Williams seemingly out of the lineup for the Gophers tonight due to injury, it seems that this may hasten the return of Devoe Joseph to the starting lineup.  He’d been on the sidelines with the team but has not played as of yet and Couch Tubby Smith was to reevaluate Joseph’s academic situation prior to the game.  If he’s cleared, this could be Devoe’s big break to show what he can be to the team particularly since they will be playing a good team in Virginia.  Also, freshman big man Mo Walker has been playing well in the last two games and should see more court time if Williams is indeed out of lineup too even if Walker is not a wing player.

7:00pm Monmouth @ Davidson

7:00pm Maine @ Quinnipiac – This game is not one that you’d be circling on your schedule as a must watch game unless you’re a true fan of either school.  But for you Canadian basketball fans out there, Maine does have two Canucks in Murphy Burnatowski and Mike Allison.  Burnatowski has been a season long starter and is averaging 11 points, 2.8 rebounds and a steal in a very efficient 23.8 minutes per game.  Allison has also been very efficient in limited action going for 3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 11.3 minutes.  If for no other reason, you should watch and see how this inside/outside combo works in what can be a very tight game.

8:00pm Belmont @ Tennessee State

8:00pm Emporia State @ Kansas State

Good first half for Devoe.

Too bad they lost.

Big 12 looks like its the toughest conference this year. Gonna be tough for Texas.

Devoe did have a good game! I wasn;t surprised to see him in the boxscore at all. With Al Nolen out everything is “fine” with his academics for now.

And I may have to partially agree with you on the Big 12. I’m a huge Big East fan so I’m stll going with them as the toughtest conference but for sure Texas will have a good run of comp in the Big 12. It seems the conferences with the word big in them tend to be consistent. Sorry Pac-10.
