Marquee Match Up
9:30pm Kansas State vs. Gonzaga
This will be a huge game to watch. After coming off a stunning defeat at the hands of a very good San Diego State team last week, the Zags will come out looking to knock someone’s block off. In that loss to the Aztecs, sophomore forward Elias Harris had injured his Achilles and though he’s been said to good to go for this game, you can’t really expect too much from him. That means that the Canuck frontcourt duo of Kelly Olynyk and Rob Sacre will have to really play bigger for this game. Sacre is currently Gonzaga’s second leading scorer and leading rebounder, big for a guy that has been called too soft for an intimidator. Olynyk is only averaging 18 minutes a game but is putting a very efficient 9.3 points and 5.7 rebounds. They will both get tested by this very, very tough Kansas State team that have bigs that, though they are not featured in the offense because of the talented guards, are capable of dropping points in bunches. They X factor for this game might be Manny Arop who has to be among the best per-40 minute guys in the NCAA averaging 3.7 points, 3.3 boards and a steal in 11.3 minutes of burn.
4:30pm Presbyterian vs. Bucknell
4:30pm Marist vs. Belmont
7:00pm Mount St. Mary’s @ Niagara
7:00pm Hampden-Sydney @ Elon
7:00pm Cornell @ Lehigh
7:00pm Warren Wilson @ Western Carolina
7:30pm Duke vs. Marquette
7:30pm Maine @ Notre Dame
8:00pm Nevada @ George Washington
8:00pm Florida Gulf Coast @ Arkansas – Toronto’s Marvell Waithe had a good debut at the high major level for the Razorbacks last week. In 16 minutes, Waithe had 3 pts, 7 rebounds and 2 assists with the biggest stat being the boards. He won’t need to score since Rotnei Clarke and Marshawn Powell will likely do most of that but this game, which could be a blowout for Arkansas, could be a game where Marvell gets to show his O game off.
8:00pm Detroit @ Mississippi State – Toronto’s Jason Calliste is in a unique early situation. He didn’t play at all last season for the Titans but through three games he’s played pretty well to warrant playing 35 minutes a game. I personally didn’t think he’d be playing at all let alone that many minutes so I’m curious to see him play in this game against a possible NCAA Tournament team in Mississippi State. Calliste is currently averaging 11 points, 4 rebounds and 1.7 steals so far this year.
8:00pm McNeese State @ Southern Miss – Vancouver’s Diego Kapelan has been a steady scorer is three years at McNeese State but this year he’s started off on a pretty good clip averaging 17 points and shooting 16-of 35 from the field and 9-of-19 from the three. Southern Miss will have him on their radar as a gunner so it will be interesting to see if the ball isn’t falling for him how he helps his team pull a win out.
9:05pm Idaho @ Montana

With Harris out
Does this mean Manny is starting?
Also I was shocked that Texas only moved up 1 spot on the USA today poll after beating Illinois and losing by a bucket to Pitt.
Not exactly ...
Harris is a go for the game so I’d expect one of two things: if he’s a lot better than he will start but if they are just looking to test his ability tonight he won’t. IF he doesn’t start it will likely be Morninghoff who is a lot better of a shooter than Manny. I hope Manny starts but it may not happen.
As for Texas at #1 in the USA Poll, I don;t know about that. I only really pay attention to the AP Poll for the most part and any other one is just for gauging. The AP is the law for the most part anyway.

Watching the Gonzaga game?
K-State looks impressive!! Texas is going to be in tough against them.
I was expecting a little more from Kelly, especially after the summer. Sacre has a big NBA-ready body.
this game was terrible for the Zags
At least Sacre showed up in the 2nd half and looked like the player he should be with that NBA body. Everyone else was pretty much non existant.
