The NC-Double-Eh Schedule - Nov. 18
Tonight's marquee match up will take you to the Mecca, Madison Square Garden, to watch the Dynamic Duo take on Illinois. Find out who else is playing tonight right here ...
Marquee Match Up
9pm Illinois vs. Texas
This game tonight will be a huge one for Tristan Thompson and Cory Joseph. They’ll be returning to Madison Square Garden in the Coaches vs. Cancer game against Illinois, who is ranked 12th in the AP Poll this week. The first two games were blowouts for the Longhorns and thus gave Cory and Tristan a lot freedom, relatively speaking, to play without pressure. But this game against Illinois will be tough. Both Canadians will have possible All Conference players matched up against them in guard Demetri McCamey and forward Mike Davis making this game their toughest yet. The freshmen have seemed to have been able to handle the spotlight and attention to now but this will be a high pressure game at a level they may not be used to. It will be interesting to see how they perform tonight.
7:00pm Presbyterian @ Kansas State
7:00pm Western Kentucky vs. Minnesota
7:30pm Richmond @ Iona
8:00pm Grambling State @ Arkansas – This will be the first game for the Razorbacks this regular season and I’m very curious to see Toronto’s Marvell Waithe. He had originally committed to Loyola-Chicago and then to Rutgers and then ended up at Junior College before landing at Arkansas. He has an inside/outside game and play anywhere on the floor. The Razorbacks already have a star inside and outside guys already so I’m wondering if Waithe will be the guy that makes this team work better.
8:30pm New Mexico State@ Arizona – Montreal’s Hernst Laroche has been on an offensive tear to start the season. Laroche is averaging 15.5 pts, 8 asts, 3 rbs and 3.5 stls in his first two games but he’s facing an Arizona team with its own talented guards. It will be interesting to see how Laroche matches up to some of the better players at his position on the west coast. Expect Hamilton’s Tyrone Watson and Toronto’s Christian Kabongo to pick up the slack also.
10:00pm Rice @ Santa Clara – Vancouver’s Marc Trasolini has come out the first two games for Santa Clara hot averaging 16 pts and 9.5 rbs. He was expected to anchor the middle for the Broncos and he has thus far. Best of all, Traz has showed early that he can play against the best as shown by his 15 pts, 9 rbs game in the loss to USC where he also connected on 3 of his 6 three attempts. Expect Traz to own the middle with an occasional trey.

Big Game Tonight
This is going to be a tough match-up for Texas. It will be a real litmus test for both CJ and TT playing against high quality seniors. Burnt Orange Nation had a link to an article with Barnes saying that TT has just scratched the surface and is the most talented on the team. Got the Bell packageso I can watch the rest of the year in high def.
Great to see so many Canadians playing so well. Too bad about the Zags.
I'm with you ...
This game will be litmus test of sorts for the young duo for sure. I would surprised if they fell flat on their faces since they should be able to hold their own. Tristan is just a superb athlete and very skilled also so he should have little trouble doing what he’s been doing already. Cory will have a little more trouble I think since he’ll be the primary ball handler for most of the time he’s on the floor but he should still be able to get something in for himself.

What a game!!
what a line by Thompson. I really thought Cory’s buzzer beater was in. They both showed a ton of composure under pressure. Cory does need to start taking over a little more.

I think I'm drinking the juice ...
I’m on the Thompson for a possible lottery spot in june train now. He just makes everything look easy how can you not begin to think about it. There is still a ways to go but I really think he has that shot. I mean if Lamarcus Aldridge can do it I figure so can Thompson.
Cory played well too. He never seems to force anything, especially offensively. He’s a legit lead guard.

After he missed those free throws
I thought he was toast. Kid sucked it up and made up for it. Impressive!!
Cory seems to be trying to fit in. I get that he played under control, but …
Watched that entire game
Tristan Thompson is a FORCE, espescially defensively. Aldridge who?
