When someone or something desires the limelight only to wilt under the newfound pressure, it's Like a Bosh.

The NBeh? blog takes a look at the Raptors' automated Wins Produced numbers after week three of the NBA season. At -0.9 Wins Produced, Andrea Bargnani "leads" the league. Linas Kleiza is not far behind at -0.6 Wins Produced.

Speaking of Bargnani, TrueHoop looks back at the terrible 2006 draft.

Wait a minute, wait a minute...

Is the article above saying that Andrea Bargnani has the WORST wins produced rate in the entire NBA? Maybe I’m not reading this right…

by MAS11 on Nov 17, 2010 1:38 PM EST reply actions

Yeah, that was one of the bullet points. And apparently Kleiza is the 7th worst for whatever that is worth.

0.9 is a pretty terrible mark, no doubt – but I’d imagine someone is worse than Bargnani? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

After reading this, anyone interested in continuing the argument that the HQ is just mean to Bargnani and are haters and are unfair and they will go find another blog where they aren’t so meen to Bargnani? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller/ Cricket, cricket… I mean COME ON! Worst in the league!!!

Marcus Banks for HOF

After reading these numbers, I see Marcus Banks posting a Hall of Fame level 0.868 WP48. No wonder people are calling for him to get more playing time. We’re going to ride this guy to a championship!!!…….(Ah, the joys of small sample sizes)

Also, to the delight of many around here, the blogger NB’eh suggests playing Anderson more based on his advanced stats….

by DW19 on Nov 17, 2010 4:00 PM EST up reply actions

I would say Bargnani has a much larger sample size than Banks, and furthermore Bargnani has always had a terrible WP rating for his entire career.

by MAS11 on Nov 17, 2010 4:14 PM EST up reply actions

Yes, the sample size of Marcus Banks should be noted. But like MAS11 said, Bargnani has a massive sample size and still consistently ends up among the worst players in the league when you consider Wins Produced.

I will pretend the David Anderson suggestion never happened.

I won't

I’ll duly note that I should never listen to the person who evidently has not watched a single minute of the ugly Australian’s play this year.

by RaptorsAddict on Nov 17, 2010 5:17 PM EST up reply actions

My argument against Anderson is not his play on the floor. It’s the fact that he’s on the wrong side of 30 and is playing at the expense of guys like Dorsey. This is a rebuilding team.

Bench him for a game. Then make him earn his minutes. He will still be weak, but his WP48 will rise if they make him earn it.

Bargnani has been given 9095 minutes so far in his NBA career. Make him earn the rest. I mean that is plenty of time to develop. Make him show some fight. Something to note. The guys that we have been talking about wanting to give minutes to develop have seen this many minutes of court time during their NBA careers.

Amir Johnson 3511
Julian Wright 2381
Demar 2006
Sonny Weems 1673
Joey Dorsey 154

Excellent way to compare

Playing time is absolutely key to judging how much of a shot a player has been given. Bargs? He should be given some type of shot in the ass to see if it might actually jolt him awake.

2006 was a terrible terrible draft year. Too bad for BC.

On another note, good start to the season.

  1. Player Name FG-FGA FG-FGA FT-FTA OF DE TOT PF TP A TO BLK S MIN
    40 Barnes, Harrison…. f 6-12 0-3 2-2 2 2 4 4 14 2 0 1 0 27

just to clarify.. he scored 14 shooting 50%. Nothing dominating. But looked good.

2006 vs. 2011

It looks like 2011 will be a better year to have a top pick than 2006 was.

There are a couple of Euros apparently rated in the top ten, so this draft won’t be devoid of temptation for Colangelo….

There’s actually a ton of Int’l players up for the draft this year:

Donatas Motiejunas 7-0 224 PF Lithuania (A mirror of Bargs except plays inside a bit more— well overseas anyways)

Jan Vesely 6-11 230 SF/PF Czech Republic

Lucas Nogueira 7-0 200 PF/C Brazil (I’d call him a 7’ Ed Davis)

Jonas Valanciunas 6-11 240 PF/C Lithuania

Robin Benzing 6-10 205 SFGermany

Looking forward to next Wednesday as I’ll be down at the NIT Tip off tournament @ the Madison Sq. Gardens and seeing most likely Villanova vs UCLA and VCU vs Tennesse (we’ll know by tonight).

Gonna see if potential Raptor 2nd rounder Correy Fisher (Vill) is worth a shot? Or Tyler Honeycut (SG/SF – UCLA) or Maalik Wayns (PG Vill) might be worth trading down or if the raps go on a huge win streak (loL)?

Haven’t been back to the Maddy to watch college hoops in eons.

What if we had Paul Millsap instead of PJ Tucker?

by Ustation on Nov 17, 2010 5:01 PM EST reply actions

and before anyone plays the hindsight game.. he wasn’t even on the radar on any mock draft list.

2006 was 'Like a Bosh'...

That video is pure amazing. Tas and Skeets crack me up continuously. Toronto reprazent.

Unfortunately, Mark Spears from Yahoo Sports recently compared the talent level of the upcoming 2011 draft to Bargs’ 2006 draft class. Upsetting. Check it here
