Chris Bosh is expected to miss the start of training camp because of a strained left hamstring. For more on the Bosh injury, check out coverage in The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, National Post, and Toronto Sun.
At least someone on the Raptors' roster is healthy! A summer of relative inactivity has Jose Calderon feeling 100 per cent and primed to show what he can do on defence. Calderon and Andrea Bargnani also expressed confidence that Bosh will stay in Toronto after his current deal expires at the end of the season.
RaptorBlog profiles rookie DeMar DeRozan, whose impressive mid-range game, athleticism and work ethic have him poised to be the most impressive Raptor rookie since CB4.
Remember Ed O'Bannon? Raptors fans really wanted the UCLA product with the seventh pick in the 1995 NBA Draft, and filled the SkyDome with boos when the team chose a diminutive point guard from Arizona. Well, SLAM remixed that Draft and the Raptors ended up with... Damon Stoudamire. In hindsight, you can't boo the selection of Mighty Mouse.
Former Raptor Joey Graham is headed to training camp with the Denver Nuggets on a one-year, non-guaranteed deal. So either "Good Joey" makes the team or "Bad Joey" gets cut. I think we know how that's going to work out.

Welcome to the Real World Joey
It is kind of unfortunate that Joey had to find out the hard way that you don’t just get contracts handed to you in the NBA but you have to earn them. I hope this is the kick in the ASS he needs to maybe reach at least half of his potential.
I think that saying Shawn Respert was the biggest bust in the 95 draft is just plain stupid on the part of Slam. I mean the dude had stomach cancer. What were Big Country Reeves (injuries and ate himself out of the league) and Ed OBannons excuses? Truly poor judgment on the part of SLAM.
So Scott has decided to update his site again. I used to be a reader of his site a few years ago but then he got too big for his britches and took a job with Sympatico (I believe) doing blogs for them and stopped updating his website with any regularity. I guess everyone needs to learn that you can’t forget the people who pushed you into your improved situations else it could bite you in the ass.

Respert
Totally agree about Respert. That was kind of classless to call him out as a bust (even if he was from a basketball standpoint). Sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture.
