Kong is one of the better basketball talents to have played in the country in the last few years, particularly in BC. He has recently gained his Canadian citizenship in May.
Kong has been a big time prospect since his high school days in BC and was being recruited by many high D1 programs. WIth his vIsa issues, many of the scholarship offers dried up until it was sorted out. It did take a couple of years but Gonzaga was with him from the beginning and they will be lucky to have him this season.
The link posts don’t necessarily refer to Kong playing for the National Team but because of his roots in BC basketball, we are including him in our coverage. Moreso now with him being a citizen.
Hope this help clear it up some.

Bol Kong Canadian National Mens Team
So Ray do you know if Leo has any interest in working Kong out to as a potential player for the mens team. I think he deserves a shot after all the crap he has been through and it would be a great story.
Well Mystro88, I haven’t heard anything about Kong not working out for the National Team so that’s a good thing. The team and the personnel don’t really discuss who they will bring in or not with the public. Does he deserve a shot? Of course he does and he has enough talent to warrant a lot of attention south of the border. But in all honesty, I don’t think you’ll see Kong in any of the Senior Men’s camps next summer. Now that doesn’t mean that he won’t be there. If the stars align for the time of the next set of camps next summer, meaning the staff wants him at camp and he is available, there is no reason he won’t be around the National Team but expect him on the World University Team before the Senior National in my opinion.
