Yeah, the Devean George headline and comment after is a little misleading
What he said seems to be the standard utterance of any player going to a new team. If I were running the team, I think I’d want all my players to say similar things. However, if they don’t make the starting lineup, I’d want them to not say a thing and be ready to go when called upon.
I should point out that I'm only going by the teaser quote.
Perhaps there other things in the article but I can’t seem to get to it.
You’re right — it is a bit of a cliche in terms of player speak. However, it does indicate an obvious disconnect between what’s going on in Devean George’s mind vs. reality. And his reality is that he hasn’t been a decent NBA player since his Lakers days… You could even argue that he wasn’t much of a player at that point either.
