Right on hope to see them succeed, there are a number of guys that should still be considered for this team, a few names in particular, bol kong, tristan blackwood, tristan thompson, andrew nicholson, cory joseph, richard peters

Missing Canadians

Ray I have a question, if you look at all the canadian content on the 2 IBL teams Edmonton Energy and Vancouver Titans why are none of these guys being looked at by canada basketball? The only one that comes to mind is alex steele of the Edmonton Energy. The Energy in particular have 7 Canadians on their roster including Andrew Parker, JR Patrick, Steve Sir, Skouson Harker, Kevin Shand, Lunzaya Nlandu, Alex Steele, and Vancouver’s whole team is pretty much made up of caanadians, guys like Steve Sir, Andrew Parker, JR Patrick, James Hudson, need to be given serious looks by Canada Basketball

No Real Answer

Thanks for reading the post. Mystro88, I don’t have a ready answer for that question. I have mentioned in a fanpost, I think by you, that when speaking to Coach Leo (and Garundhini-I know I spelled his last name wrong), it comes down to availablity first and foremost. Looking at the IBL rosters alone, there are guys who are very capable of playing on the Senior Team. Some of them, like Jermaine Bucknor and Sir from the Energy as well as Scott Morrison for the Titans have a history with the Program already. I will only assume that these players are just not available for whatever reason-pro commitments, injury, academic for the younger guys, or whatever.

From what I understand there is always a pool of about 30-40 guys who make a short list. From that list the Program guys select to work out for events yearly. I know that not all the guys make it out to the workouts and all the guys at the workouts don’t all go to the events. Selection processes and what goes into selection was not something that I was able to ask about when I last spoke to Coach about this.

I know this isn’t the best answer but I hope it’s enough of one for now.
